Aside from Wade Barrett's initial match against Yoshi Tatsu, his subsequent outings have had his opponents get a decent level of offense. We've seen the likes of Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, and Zack Ryder, guys who are for the most part considered "jobbers", put on a pretty competitive efforts against Barrett. Being able to go back and forth with a main event caliber talent even in a cleanly losing effort should in theory, help build momentum for these guys. Does anyone think they're using Barrett to try to build/rebuild credibility for their lower card guys?

I would love to see the "f*** the midcard" mentality abolished, no matter who's spearheading the effort to do so. If it's Wade doing it, so much the better.

No, not a slight against Wade. Like last year I originally thought that the Ryder vs. Ziggler US feud was going to be the basis for them rebuilding the midcard... and look where that led.
I fully expect whatever they're doing with Wade to peter off just as unspectacularly.

I think Wade will probably move up to the title scene within the next 6 months or so. He's just sharpening his fangs right now. If anything they need to form the midcard around Cesaro.

I love Wade, but if you haven't held a World title, or aren't being groomed for one, prepare to be irrelevant.

I wouldn't call any of those matches competitive. Sure they had the jobbers hit some token offense on Barrett, but it's clear he is in control and the ending of the match is never in doubt. There's nothing to separate those matches from the squashes we've seen from ADR, Tensai, etc. in the last few months. Gabriel, Kidd, Ryder, and others aren't seeing any benefits of losing in less than five minutes every week.
