Basically, there are two sides to Reddit:
1. A fun place that has a little bit of everything if you know where to look (a general rule is that the smaller subreddits are better communities).
2. A place where people gain internet points by pandering to eachother with their own hiveminded liberal/athiest views and generally breaking the smugscale.
By far the funniest place there is r/circlejerk.

I find it very ironic that the moderators at Reddit are banning Gawker Media's stuff because of their worry of posting of Reddit users' info on the web for all to see......when that's something that Reddit users(not all, mind you, but quite a few), do all the freaking time. Hypocrites, much? Oh totally. Another black mark on the site.

Really interesting article, thanks for posting.
In general, I'm very much in favor of anonymity, but I can't feel too bad for a guy getting his name attached to series of posts such as "dead jailbait."

Realistically, people will probably raise money for him. There will be people who think, for good reason or not, that he got screwed here, so I guess it remains to be seen how this will ultimately effect him.

Yeah, no doubt the Reddit community will band together and raise him a few thousand dollars at least.

Only thing that bugs me is the site getting labeled as being a place for creeps and the such. Sure, they're there, but it's so easy to avoid all of that crap.

Not sure what purpose this "journalism" serves besides ruining a person's life. If VA did something illegal, report it to the authorities.
If you out every pervert on the internet, it is going to be a really f***ing empty internet.

I'd rather an empty internet if it's one without creepy guys taking pictures of kids without their consent or knowledge for erotic purposes, thanks. And if it teaches people that being anonymous doesn't give them the license to act like scum, all the better.

Reddit is a cesspool of perversity, stories like this are why I've never given it a second look. The way I look at it, it's kinda like saying the crime in Fargo is why I avoid North Dakota. This stuff is easy to stay away from. Exactly. I'm a long time redditor and I honestly never heard of this guy till today.

Yeah but he's exposing random pedestrian girls getting their naughty parts being posted all over online, women getting beating abused, and dead people. He deserves to be exposed as they were.

Something not being illegal doesn't mean it's not wrong. Burning books isn't illegal. But if a group held a book burning where I lived, damn right I'd spread the news and make sure they were condemned for it. If this guy's done nothing illegal, then maybe he won't get locked up for it, but it doesn't mean he deserves to live life with no repercussions for his actions. If legality is the only question, it's perfectly legal to write an article about someone, and it's perfectly legal to fire someone. I will say, as my ex had fibromyalgia, it's a horrible condition and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and I do sympathise somewhat with his wife, as I can only imagine how much worse things would be without having the NHS to help, let alone no healthcare. But that may be straying towards politics, and it shouldn't guarantee someone to a job no matter what their actions merit. And this serves no purpose in your eyes, but in my view, not only does this bring focus to the seedy underbelly of Reddit and question the morality of the moderation team if they allowed all this (and they should be questioned), but it makes every other troll, creeper and paedophile on the internet wonder if they're really anonymous, and it'd maybe convince them to consider it not worth the potential loss. Sounds good to me.

FAN should have the biggest troll on the net.
He should visit various sites and ask whether (something) ruined (someone's) gimmick, even if the site is based on fiscal policy in Africa.
