Not a sex scene per say, but I've always thought the 5 minute scene of Jessica Biel in the shower in Blade 3 was kinda unnecessary. Dont get me wrong, its always good seeing fine women in the shower, but not when it deos a thing forthe movie for that long
Love your sig btw

Not counting B, horror, or below movies.
XXX, the hooker scene.

Shaft. It cuts to him eating in a diner afterwords ;D. Though I guess it is rather important in establishing Shaft's day to day life: do detective stuff, fight some guys, love some woman, go to the diner, repeat.

I'd argue it makes perfect sense in context. If we're talking about the Dr. Manhattan one, it shows just how detached he's become from humanity, that he's just going through the motions because that's what he's "supposed" to do. If we're talking about the Nite Owl one, then it shows just how impotent, literally and figuratively, he's felt since being forced to retire. He can't get the job done until he puts the suit on, does his job, and, in essence, becomes whole again.

I was referring to the Nite Owl sex. And while your idea does make sense, I'm sure they could've gotten by with just letting it happen off screen.

But also, keep in mind this is the movie that spent a few mil to make sure Manhattan's dong was as realistic as possible, just so they could be faithful to the book as they could be. Though I guess you could say this point is also in your favor.

Never Back Down 2, well the strip club one. Nah, make that both. Well one of them had to do with the romantic subplot, but the other one was just gratuitous.

Books - Every sex scene in Fifty Shades
Films - It wasn't shown but the scene between Strawberry Fields and Bond in "Quantum of Solace" just for the casual way Bond basically says "hey, this is a nice hotel.....OK, now sex time"
TV - Tasha Yar boning Data. She was clearly embarassed by it, even though Data regarded it stupidly as profound.

Ghostbusters - the scene where Ray dreams of getting a ghost hummer. How am I supposed to explain that to my eight and ten year old kids?

Sexy Sorority Sluts 1 and 3 are built on unnecessary sex scenes if I say so myself.
