So, this may sound lame but I am hyped for the film adaptation of "Les Misérables" coming out this year.
Here's the trailer;
I've never seen the broadway production. However, I do own the original London cast recording on Vinyl that was a hand me down from my grandmother. I try not to get hyped from trailers, but I've seen the trailer about a dozen times at work and everytime I get more intrigued to see it.
So, uh, anyone else looking forward to this?

A musical starring Russell Crowe........ that sounds more terrifying then any horror film being released this year But seriously, this does look good.

I'm certainly looking forward to this, but, it'll be hard to replace the film version with Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush, imo.
I know, the two films are different beasts. The Neeson and Rush film being an adaptation of the book itself and this film is an adaptation of the musical, in essence an adaptation of an adaptation.

YES! YES! YES!
Les Mis is the only musical, I've ever been into. I got to see it 3 times when it was on tour here, and it was incredible. This trailer looks really good.

I love Les Mis. Got to see it on Broadway and own the 10th/25th Anniversary concerts. Really looking forward to this movie.

It kinda seems like Jackman and Crowe's roles should be reversed. Valjean is considered to be a big strong guy, which Crowe coulld pull off. Jackman just looks like he would be a good Javert. His face, and hairstyle in the movie just scream Javert. I'm not complaining though, singing style is a big part of why those guys were cast in their roles.
Speaking of singing. The way Anne Hathaway sings I Dreamed a Dream in the trailer is incredible. She put alot of emotion into that. From what I've read the part of Fantine was a role she really really wanted.

Well Jackman IS 6'4" tall, and have you seen how jacked he gets for his roles as Wolverine?

It's not that, I'm just saying Crowe looks to be more the Valjean type. The hoss strongman prisoner, more common looking. Its just something I see, but it doesn't make a difference to me either. I'm sure both guys will be great in their roles.
