Something I'm curious about, I can get the hate for things like Nickelback, but what's wrong with Shinedown. They're one of my favorite bands at the moment sure they're not better than stuff like Foo Fighters, but is that a reason to hate them, is it because they might come off as generic, I just want to know.

They're probably the least worst of the post-grunge garbage out there

Some things become cool to hate. Nickelback are one, Shinedown are simply another.

Some of the lyrics are really, really silly. That's why I hate them, at least. I will say that I actually saw them live once and the lead singer has a really good voice. That's about the best I can say about them.

IMO they're pretty bland but that's just whatever.

You'll always have people who like a band, people who dislike a band and people who bandwagon because it's cool to either like or dislike any given band at any given time. Shinedown and Nickelback are examples of bands it's cool to hate at the minute. I'm not saying everyone who hates them is just trying to be cool, I know I'm not and I can't stand Nickelback but there's a portion of people out there who do.

They've got a couple of good songs. The one from The Expendables was pretty damn awesome. And Cry for Help pretty much got drilled into my head via MC:LA, so I kinda like it now.

I recently discovered that Hinder and Shinedown weren't the same band. That's the problem with a lot of this post-grunge stuff. It all basically blends together and sounds very generic. I wouldn't say Shinedown is awful, but they aren't exactly anything unique. They're a typical radio rock band.

I find it incredibly easy to flat out despite the Foo Fighters and everything they stand for, so yes

I Dare You and Second Chance are fantastic songs but I just couldn't get into their albums from what I've heard of them.

I like some Shinedown songs. Can't say they're a favorite, but if they're on the radio I don't change the station.

I like how every song actually sounds different. Can't say the same with most post hillbilly grunge bands.
