I've always wondered how that would have turned out. I imagine the game still would have sold well but that his performance as CJ would have been really dull.
Young Maylay made that character work so well, so I'm glad they didn't stick to their original plan.

Young Maylay did play the role well. However, in terms of rappers, he wasn't really a household name in order to be cast, at least compared to a lot of the other voice actors (It could be argued about MC Eiht and Yo-Yo, both of whom played Ryder and Kendl respectively, but they were relevant at one point). He still played it well, though. I can't imagine 50 Cent's voice on CJ.
