www.comicsalliance.com/2012/10/18/warner-bros-granted-permanent-ownership-of-50-of-superman-by-c/From the ongoing legal battles. Essentially they now own Joe Shuster's half, free and clear. While the fan of the character in me is glad this guarantees no interruption of Superman merchandising ever; as a 50% owner in a copyright pretty much guarantees said owner the ability to continue to create stuff based on that copyright in perpetuity; there's another part of me that can't be TOO happy about this given how they treated Jerry and Joe for DECADES. Yeah it was work for hire, yeah they signed the contracts way back when, but still..

The next villain Superman will face will be: {Spoiler} Though he's not on the cover, it may already have happened.

I'm a little confused. How much did WB own before? Because I thought they owned 100% of Superman before.

the really messed up thing is that the guy suing them isn't even the Seigle estate. it's some lawyer who bought partial credit for the estate through his grandniece and then decided he should have rights to Superman. guy doesn't deserve f*** all as far as I'm concerned. they sold the character off in good faith. yeah they were ripped off. it happened a lot back then. and it's not like DC/Warner hasn't tried making restitutions to their estates before either.
