what was the movie that has the famous line "If you build it, they will come" Rookie of the Year. Just kidding, Field of Dreams. Which was made in 1989, barely missing the cut.

Sandlot, League, Rookie, Angels.
Though I must admit, I cried like a baby when I found out Tony Danza was gonna die.

lol what would be your fantasy team based on every one from the 90's movies? C: Dottie Hensen (A League Of Their Own) Would put Parkman but he was a dick, and my heart wants to give it to Rube Baker) 1B: Lou Collins ( Little Big League) 2B: Marla Hootch ( A League Of Their Own: What A Hitter!) 3B: Ray Mitchell (Angels In Thr Outfield) SS: ? can't think of anyone I'll guess I'll put benny the jet here because he really didn't have a position. OF: Willie Mays Hays (Major League) OF: Pedro Cerano (Major League) OF: Mickey Scales (A League Of Their Own) Rotation: 1) Ricky Vaughn(Major League) 2) Mel Clark(A League Of Their Own) 3) Mike Mcgreevey (Little Big League) 4) Chet Stedman (Rookie Of The Year) 5) Kit Keller (A league of Their Own) Bullpen: 1) Henry Rowengartner (Rookie Of The Year) 2) Jim Bowers (Little Big League: For his awesomeness) 3) John "Blackout" Gatling (Little Big League) 4) Eddie Harris (Major League) Manager: Jake Taylor (Major League II) You should have Whit Bass on the team. Guy was an inning eater.

I don't think you can fake throw to a base that is occupied. If you motion toward the base you have to throw the ball Pitchers still do that awful fake to first/fake to third thing when there's runners on the corners. Anyway, since Major League is listed, I'm going Field of Dreams, because Kevin Costner is the greatest baseball movie actor of all time.

If you want to remember that being a movie that existed. Wasn't Dorn a shortstop in Major League?

Tough call, but I'll say A League Of Their Own over The Sandlot.
I always thought Benny the Jet played 2B. Wasn't there a scene where he took a throw from the SS for the start of a double play, or am I misremembering?
And yes, Roger Dorn played 3B. We see that when they called Vaughn in from the bullpen for the one-game playoff. (Edit: Oh yeah, and the sparsely attended afternoon game against Oakland, where he missed the easy grounder. By the way, I wouldn't expect many fans to attend a game that was in the 9th inning and the clock said something like 10:40am.)

The Sandlot...even if Major League counts as a '90s movie (?), The Sandlot is still better. A League of Their Own is pretty close.

didn't see the poll but would put major league in there as well but that was released in 89 really? I didn't realize there was that big of a gap between the 2 movies. ML = 1989 MLII= 1994 ML: Back to the Minors = 1998 kind of surprised there was a smaller gap between 2 and 3 than there was between 1 and 2 I refuse to believe that Back to the Minors was ever really made. I walked out of that shite about 30 mins in.

Understood.... I was loyal to the ML franchise I guess. Major League I basically know the entire movie word for word and even though it wasn't as good, I loved II as well (Harry Doyle was absolutely great). If I even hear that that the 3rd movie is coming on I get angry.

I'm thinking the reason I thought that and Major league were 90s movies was because I moved into a new house in Feb 1990 so any movies I saw for the first time while at that house I just assumed were made in the 90s. Since they were made in 89 it's possible that our corner store didn't get them until 90.
