I love this song. So weird that I heard it on the Classic Rock station a couple weeks ago.

I genuinely adore this song. This is a song that gives me hope. It uplifts me. I feel like I can move forward when I hear this song.
It's also taken from an underrated album.

I always thought this to be the best REM song, REM has never done.

I like this song and like others have said is very uplifting. Well since it seems to be an uplifting song from the 90's I'll just wait till someone shows up to tell us all about how it is actually a song about some horrible horrible depressing subject.

I love this song also find it funny Marilyn Manson wanted to beat up the lead singer in this band over the lyrics in this song about beating him and Hanson up.

I like this song, but the first time I heard it, I really thought it was a new Rolling Stones song. That dude sounds crazy like Jagger.

It really isn't, it's seemingly about how teenagers are overlooked and made to feel pointless when they aren't.

Love this song. Reminds me of when I went to Canada with my family in '99.

It's also taken from an underrated album. My brother bought that album and hated it.

It's also taken from an underrated album. My brother bought that album and hated it. The lyrics are quite annoying, because a lot of the rest of the album is very much 'I got soooo high and had soooo much sex, it would blow your mind. Let me tell you about it...' But the opening three songs are all fantastic. The rest of it varies, but it's definitely worth a buy.

Always dug this tune, those lyrics are inspiring. Never seen the video to it before now, that looks like the same mall they filmed the original Dawn of the Dead in.

It really isn't, it's seemingly about how teenagers are overlooked and made to feel pointless when they aren't. Part of it is about herpes. "The Dreamers' Disease" is herpes. Also, not to be the sour contrarian in the thread, but in terms of New Radicals singles, I'll always prefer "Someday We'll Know." For fans of the album you might want to check out Chicago rapper Shawna's 2006 album Block Music is largely a tribute to New Radicals' Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too album, with the bulk of the tracks on the album featuring samples from different New Radicals songs. Finally, I recently found a VHS tape of the group performing "You Get What You Give" on Leno. They changed the lyrics of the final celebrity-bashing part to "with Richard Branson, Linda Tripp and Shirley Manson."

I never liked the song. It was a little too happy-go-lucky for my tastes.

I remember reading somewhere that the lead singer HATED the song, which is why he eventually wore the bucket hat at live concerts, so nobody could see his lack of "damns" given.
I liked their song that was in A Walk to Remember. The name escapes me now...
