For the majority of his career, Batista had been portrayed as a big, roided up animal who could kick the crap out of everyone. It was only revealed this year that in reality, he's a very cool, calm guy with a good head on his shoulders, which is the total opposite of what his original character was (I'm not talking about the Deacon). Who are some other wrestlers out their whose real-life personalties are totally different from what is portrayed on television?

Well, some of the obvious ones:
Eugene Any of the "flamboyant" teams (GAAAAAAAAAY!) Kerwin "He's Chavo, dammit!" White Kane Snitsky (one can hope) Taker (one can REALLY hope) Kurt Angle. Though I'd like to think that flips out about everything. "I SAID I WANTED MY EGGS SCRAMBLED! SCRAMBLED, NOT SUNNY SIDE UP! YOU STUPID WAITRESS, I BROKE MY FRIGGIN NECK!"

The Ultimate Warrior - in reality a shy, retiring and level-headed individual.

Er,with the possible exception of a few,Ill go out on a limb here and say that MOST wrestlers are different people from the characters they portray in the ring.

On a slight side-track, did Hogan even have a defined persona throughout the 80s? Besides being big and "immortal?"

I met Marc Mero once. He was calm, except for when he slapped me on the forehead. (True story)

Mick Foley sounds incredibly strange when he isn't shrieking/generally sounding demented. I talked to him on the phone was (around nwo2000 he was schedueled to sign autographs at the car show the company which my mom was a receptionist for was putting on, he called to say he missed his flight and i picked up and talked to him for awhile [he was a great guy to put up with my annoying 10-year-old mark self])

Steve Austin looks like he's playing a character. I can't imagine that the guy rides trucks, drinks beer, yells out profanities at random people and donkeypunches his girlfriends and/or wives in real life. He looks like the literary type. Probably reads 3 books a week.

Outside the IWC, I've never heard one bad word about Triple H. Every story I've heard has put him over as gracious and great with his fans.
Ditto Kurt Angle. Genuine and goofy-ish and nice to a fault.
Though I think him slipping into character at a Denny's would be hysterical.

I hope. If not I'm amazed she would find her way to the arena or how to feed herself.

I was thinking maybe Edge and Lita. Surely they couldn't be that mean-spirited, sl****, etc. in real life. I mean, once you get to know them...

Ok its already been said but after seeing that montage of Angle while in surgery holding his daughter's stuffed animal..that is when I knew that he was a normal guy
and I will go out on a limb here but i do believe that not ALL wrestlers live by the personas they have....they are human beings too and probably do get upset outside the ring but they are genuine and nice....sometimes its hard for people to seperate the character form the person and for them its gotta suck.. i mean Angle could be walkin somewhere with his wife and daughter in Pittsburgh and get a YOU SUCK from people becasue that is who he portrays...I do feel for the wrestlers cuz they travel a LOT and are hardly home but wherever they go you know that they make it home..

In the "best of RAW" segments Angle seemed really down to earth.
I love watching the old WCW tapes with "Stunning" Steve and the long blond hair, flowery tights, and Lady Blossom

Scott Hall's not really a drunk, Razor-loving, Scarface-sounding kinda guy. He's really a straight edge missionary who wrestles on the side
