I just had this idea listening to some guy talking about Punk vs. Ryback.
A few people have thought to have Punk escape the cell somehow and run away, but that really is a terrible idea in my opinion because now you have no finish for a match that seemingly can't have a no finish.
But what about doing a Dusty finish with this idea. Have Punk escape the cell and have Ryback chance him to a backstage area where Ryback kills Punk backstage and pins him in the back to "win the belt." However, the next night on Raw, Punk is given the title back on the grounds that a HIAC match is not falls count anywhere and can't end outside of the cage. That way, Ryback still beats Punk technically but doesn't get the title.

No, I don't think a Dusty finish is going to work at all. There'd have to be a rematch and that'd extend the whole thing and there'd still have to be a screwy finish. I think if there's going to be a rematch for a Dusty finish, then the next one would have to be a clean win, and that's not going to happen.

At that point, Cena's back in the mix so you do Cena vs. Ryback vs. Punk. Then you can do whatever and figure a way out of it without Ryback losing.

Why would the ref count a pin backstage in the first place?
It just makes him look stupid and makes no sense. Also Ryback looks dumb as well for pinning him

I don't think they'd be goin' to da pay windah wit dat babeh.
It's fascinating because, it's a Hell in a Cell. And WWE isn't like TNA where there's a disqualification in a cage match or some nonsense. You're pretty much trapped in the Hell in a Cell with someone going over and someone going under.
I still think the Lesnar run in with a potential Lesnar vs Ryback match down the line would be perfect. They're not really focused on a streak that much, and that would sky rocket Ryback to the top, a big Wrestlemania match with Ryback. Too bad it's going to Triple H, but the long term money would be in Lesnar vs Ryback.

I think Punk should be DQ'ed for continuing a headlock past the 5-count while Ryback has a hand on the ropes.

So instead of having it be backstage, what about having him pin Punk on top of the cell? That's happened before so it at least allows for the legitimacy of confusion

The referee stops the match as Punk has gotten beaten up too much by Ryback. Have the ref show concern for Punk at some point during the match, which can be a total squash, and have him beckon the doctor into the ring for advice. First time doc says he's fine to continue but the brutal beating carries on and the referee again consults with the ringside doctor, calls for the bell and the official decision is a no-contest. Meaning Ryback destroys Punk, looks like a million dollars but doesn't win the belt.
Crowd chant 'bullshit', hence Ryback's support just increased.

Undertaker once pinned Randy Orton in a Hell in the Cell match outside the ring and the ref counted.
I know the WWE can be forgetful with rules (standing up required for Money in the Bank cash ins etc) but yeah, that's as foolish as the running away idea.

I can see them doing a pin outside of the ring for the win.
One match ended outside of the ring, on top of the cage, but it was a long time ago. And anyway, you knock a guy out on top of the cage what is the ref supposed to do.? "You have to get him off the cage into the ring for me to count the pin."
I doubt the WWE would look favorably on a ref forcing a wrestler to kill his opponent. But outside the ring is a different story.

I saw some people throwing these ideas around on the Wrestlezone comments section...
I would take it a step further & have Vickie fired from her Supervisor job on Monday, and having the new GM-Persona telling Ziggler that his briefcase is exclusively for the WHC. And, since he tried cashing it in on the wrong belt, he still has the briefcase. Then, have Ryback feud with Ziggler over the briefcase.

I just can't believe they'd have had Punk take out Rock at Raw1000 if they weren't going to keep him as champ until RR. It would be a huge waste of a moment.

Especially Dolph becoming Ryback's bitch for a month, because I'd rather Dolph not get destroyed repeatedly by Ryback.

Because that's what Dolph does. He loses & looks great losing.

I don't think Dolph looks great losing anymore. He just looks like a loser.
