Indeed. However Sky HD subscribers have to pay £10 a month as standard for the service, before we start throwing around the 'no extra charge' assertion ;D Plus the extra if you don't already have a Sky HD box. Then if you don't for some reason have a HD ready TV plus the relevant cables...good god we could go on for hours. God forbid when WWE start broadcasting in 3D. OT: I don't think 3D will ever 'take off' like HD has. It'll destined to remain a niche product/market. I read that industry focus and attention has already shifted to the roll-out of 'ultra HD' services. Whatever that means. I think 3D will be like what the mini-disc player was to the music industry. Novel and interesting for a while but overtaken by something else very, very quickly.

I have a 3D TV and I have used the 2D->3D conversion on a few WWE shows and it is quite staggering even if it isn't true 3D.

But there's an interest in watching everything in great crystal clear quality. Sports, dramas, movies, documentaries etc. With 3D - I've no real interest in watching Eastenders or the One Show in 3D. So it's only really something that 'works' with sports and so by default it's market is already inherently capped. I also despise how '3D' seems to be a movie genre all by itself now. Movies are made solely with the intention of having '3D' moments with things flying towards the screen with scant regard for quality of the actual storyline or script.

Yes I'm not a fan of those kind of 3D moments with various objects flying at you. That is simply a tired gimmick that should be reserved for the theme park. I am talking more about the idea of depth within a picture that looks like you could walk into it. I'd like to see WWE programming in that sense of 3D, along with proper surround sound so it is like you're sitting right where the hard camera would be.

I'm outraged TV isn't viewed as a holographic image yet. That's well overdue. This and robot servants. It's what we were promised decades ago!

I like how the conversation has gone completely off-course. It's kept the topic near the top of the page rather than me having to bump it up from the doldrums of page two.
Oh well. I'll bump this up a few times just to get the message across to anyone who might not have seen it yet.
