Is it too much? I mean I love watching wrestling but with RAW being 3 hours, Smackdown 2 and Sat. Morning Slam, do we need a Wed. night hour of recap and maybe a throwaway match?

Have you even watched Main Event?

I'd throw out SMS and Superstars before I let go of Main Event.

It's almost gotten to the point now where the only times things happen in canon are on Raw and PPVs. So I could get people complaining about Raw being too long, or PPVs too expensive.
But the rest are inconsequential wrestling shows and nobody's forcing you to watch.

SMS is just a kid's show that isn't even referenced on Raw, Main Event is usually an inconsequential marquee match and Smackdown is an endless showcase of the blandest wrestlers in WWE today having half-arsed, never-ending feuds with each other. I did watch Main Event this week though and it's actually a good show and it's nice hearing Miz develop as a commentator. You don't have to watch it though because you'll miss very little.

It actually blows my mind how inconsequential Smackdown became in such a short time. I can't even imagine a World title changing hands on the show these days, despite it happening about a year and a half ago with Orton and Christian.

I like how Main Event spends the first segment building up to the first match, making it seem like a big deal.
Also, I feel as if seeing the Miz/Kofi IC title match made me a better person. It was that good.

Personally I feel like there's too much wrestling now. Why can't the marque match of Main Event be the 3rd hour match of RAW? I'd rather they build up toward the RAW main event than have a show about a main event match.

If there's any show that the WWE should be getting rid of, its Superstars. Not only has it been completely irrelevant for three years now, filled with matches that mean absolutely nothing and don't even get mentioned on Raw or Smackdown - but the past two weeks have been awful.
Last week the show consisted of two matches - Tensai vs. McGillicutty (two heels) and Kaitlyn vs. Beth Phoenix. Both matches went about five minutes, and the rest of the episode was nothing but Raw recaps.
This week, there were only two matches again. The Uso's vs. PTP and Kidd vs. Jinder. Again, over half of the episode was nothing but Raw recaps.
If people want to see lower midcard talent put on good matches that actually mean something, you might as well watch NXT.

This is why I always hated the brand split. Yes there were way too many on the roster so it was perhaps needed, but you knew it would end in one show becoming pointless.
I remember the good old days where something explosive happened on RAW, and you couldn't wait until Thursday night to see the fallout on Smackdown.

That is the point I was trying to make. i know I don't have to watch these extra programs but that is what the problem is. There is so much of it on that it waters the program down. I remember the Superstars being the show that had a a poor jobber get killed by an established star and had the upcoming PPV hyped up. By the way that PPV was once every three months and felt like an epic event. There use to be a mystique about wrestling that it has lost and my opinion is that it is on tv so much annd there are so many PPVs as the reason for why that is. Last year's Wrestlemania is a great example, championhips which should be the most important match on the card plays second fiddle to a fued that was teased for a year.

But the rest are inconsequential wrestling shows and nobody's forcing you to watch. Agreed. Anything on television apart from Raw is optional. That's all I watch personally, along with most PPVs (unless the card looks especially dire). I simply don't have the time or the interest to watch that much WWE in one week. How is Main Event doing in the ratings? Surely that much WWE would dilute it somewhat?

After recently watching a Raw and SD in 2006, and watching Survivor Series in 2005, it's amazing just how little the brand split (if there still is one? seems they are very Bi-polar on this topic) matters. Both shows back them felt unique and different; while now days Raw is overblown and SD is inconsequential. I would honestly remove SD before Main Event, I really enjoy what they do with that show.
Whoever is doing the video packages for Main Event deserves a major raise, they are absolute top quality. With Raw being 4 hours they don't need a secondary show that goes 2 hours. Main Event would be a good show that could give you a important match, a raw recap and all the information you need about need weeks Raw.

I prefer how, mainly it's first 2 broadcasts, it gave TV time to midcarders other than getting squashed by the flavor of the week.

I like that WWE is using the Ion timeslot to experiment with a slower, more focused presentation of one match and it's participants. I'd like to see that approach make it's way to Smackdown or Raw at some point.

The 3-hour Raw's are just brutal as far as my wrestling schedule. Between that and Smackdown, there's just too much wrestling. It's also the main reason I gave up on TNA; I just want something other than wrestling on Thursdays.
Main Event sounds like it's been great so far, but I have a feeling that a few weeks or months from now, it's going to go the way of Shotgun and Heat and become a D-show.

Unless you're a kid, I don't think anyone should complain about SMS, it's a show for kids. As a parent, I'm glad the kids can watch a simple wrestling show.
I actually love the Main Event, I'll read spoilers for SD, but I try to avoid them for ME.
