Just finished watching this movie last night since AMC had aired it. Overall, I wasn't too terribly impressed. I mean, one can expect a movie about a killer doll to be cheesy - but man was it cheesy. Not awful by any means, just not great, either.
What's your opinion on the film?

It's scary as f*** when you're 6 years old and your sister tells you it's a "nice" movie, at least.

Was it your first time seeing it? Yeah, after wanting to see it for years. Like I said, not bad and I'd probably watch it again - but not a select choice from the genre, IMO.

I like Child's Play 2 the best of the series. I think it's more fun than Part 1, and takes the premise as far as it can go without descending completely into self-parody or post-modernism.

It's one of my favorite movies. I watched it last week for the first time in awhile, and I still love it. I also love parts 2 & 3. Bride of Chucky had its moments, while Seed of Chucky is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
I think if you seen it when you were younger, you'd appreciate it a lot more than watching it for the first time when your older.

Love the movie. Funny story. When it came out teddy Ruxbin dolls were popular. My cousin had one. So I snuck under his bed before he went to sleep with the doll. Waited about 20 minutes. Put the doll on the bed turned it on and yelled wanna play? He about shit himself. I got in so much trouble.

It's a perfect thing to scare the crap out of you as a kid, but once you get old enough, you begin to realize just how stupid of a concept it is. Oh no, this thing barely bigger than my shin bone is going to overpower me and kill me. Just toss the little bastard out the window.

I love the first 2 Child's Play movies and Bride of Chucky. I've always found part 3 to be kind of boring, and Seed had way too much comedy and Chucky's son (daughter?) Glen/Glenda was annoying.

I've only seen one of them. Seed of Chucky, in the theatre when it came out with my stupid ex who loved dragging me to horror films to try to toughen me up. I thought it was way more comedy than anything.
Luckily, no one told me to watch the first one as a kid when it came out because 4 year old me would have needed therapy for the rest of my life. Especially since my best friend at the time had a My Buddy and I used to sleep over at his house occasionally.

Love the original. They had an idea that was very cool in that as the movie progressed...Chucky began to look more and more human. I wish the sequels would have continued with that idea but for some reason they didn't.
It's my favorite out of the entire series. Part 2 was pretty good...3 sucked and Bride of and Seed of Chucky were good for what they were but the original is still the best.

One of the weaker movies out of the whole slasher genre thing that went on in the 80s. It's not terrible, scary when I was a kid. Laughable now though, the sequels aren't too great either - they just got too comedic for a horror movie as they preceded.

I will say, though, {Spoiler}The ending scene where Chucky is still alive after being burnt in the fireplace did legit scare me - and the first time he actually comes to life and starts attacking Karen is pretty scary - just because of how fast the doll's expression changes. Seriously, whoever did the work on that movie to get Chucky to do what he did did a great job.

I love the first, and 2/3 hold a place in my heart because I remember watching them all the time as a kid on the USA network.
