One night after a wild Hell in a Cell PPV, Raw is emanating live from the middle of Flair Country (WOOOOO!), Charlotte, North Carolina.
In a shocking turn of events, Ryback suffered his first loss in the WWE at the hands of CM Punk, Paul Heyman, and crooked referee Brad Maddox. Ryback may not have gained the WWE championship, but he did get some payback, Gorilla Pressing Maddox into the Cell wall and actually Shellshocking Punk on the roof of the Hell in a Cell. What else is in the future for Big Hungry, and what consequences will there be for Punk, Heyman, and Maddox? I can't imagine the Board of Directors is going to happy with that low blow.
One championship that did change hands was the World Heavyweight Title, as Big Show knocked out the Great White to finally capture the World title for longer than 45 seconds. I would bet that Sheamus is going to want his rematch as soon as possible, but don't expect Big Show and/or Vickie Guerrero to be as impatient.
Speaking of Vickie Guerrero, she was named the Managerial Supervisor (or some other bland corporate title) of Raw last week, and she and Dolph Ziggler crashed Cena's conference on the pre-show regarding the sudden firing of AJ Lee due to a "business dinner." Things are heating up between the two 2012 Money in the Bank winners, and let's not forget that Dolph still has his briefcase, though I don't think he's in such a hurry to cash in on the 500 lb champion, as evidenced by him going back on his promise to cash in last night.
Team Friendship experienced a set back last night as they lost the match against the Rhodes Scholars via DQ. Though they retained the titles, competition for the titles is only going to intensify as the Tag Team Champions continue to have problems working together. You can also bet that Sandow and Rhodes will not be happy that the title match they earned through a tournament ended in a DQ.
As far as the other titles go, the IC and US titles were successfully defended, as Kofi Kingston and Antonio Cesaro turned back their challengers. Eve even turned back two challengers to her Diva's title. However, another new champion was crowned, as Randy Orton beat Alberto Del Rio to become the second FAN champion. Will we see new challengers step up for the mid-card titles?
All this and more for yet another three hours, at 8PM ET.
