So I've been getting back into the Sonic Adventures recently, and have been spending most of that time in the Chao Gardens, trying to get all the different types and such. Anyone else have particular memories about it?

The tutorial Chaos read their lines in such monotone, I've checked -insert topical, yet wooden actor/actress-'s IMDB.

Ah, the awful time sink that made getting all the emblems seem even more like a futile and time-wasting endeavour. And yet people still want them back in every game.

I felt so bad trying to make a devil Chao, just punching and kicking him, it was like being a child-beating dad.

They shouldn't have made it mandatory for unlockables, but I enjoyed it, especially in SA2/B.
It gave you a reason to pick up enemy scraps, plus they're just cute.
Count me as part of the group that wants them back.

I'd also want them back, but I gotta wonder if they'd either make it TOO deep and make it even more difficult to get stuff just right, or shallow it down to make it too easy. Where they had it was just right IMO, even if a few things are harder than they should be (planting trees...don't let me buy the seeds if I gotta bust my ass just for the ability to plant the seeds!!!). I wish someone had come out with a real guide as to how to take care of those things, I remember having...I think it was the Prima guide to SA2, and it was almost TOO full of info on the game, and yet their Chao section was so minimal (just a couple of pages) and even was incomplete; it had a section on the animals and what they do as far as stat boosts and attitude (giving your Chao...I think it was a pig or hippo...made them eat fruit differents) and they would just have "none" next to ones that actually would change your Chao's attitude. It only showed the first tier of Chao Races and the prizes you won for those too.
