Usually when there's a DQ to a main title match or in the main event of a pay-per-view, we feel cheated out of a legitimate finish. We want to see a pinfall or a submission, even if the DQ may make the storytelling easier.
So can anyone think of times when they felt that the DQ in a match like this was satisfying, or even the best finish possible?

Are you including the likes of no-contests/double-DQs in the topic?
If so, I always liked the idea of what they did with Mysterio/Sabu at ONS II. I understand it wasn't the most popular of endings at the time, but I'm quite smitten with the idea that a match ends because both guys want to win so much, they batter each other beyond any contention.

I was going for more of a one guy wins by DQ finish The one that came to mind for me was Eddie vs. JBL at Judgement Day where a DQ to me was the best finish based on what happened since it showed that Eddie wanted to win so badly but knew that his body physically wasn't going to last if he tried so he took the DQ to live to fight another day

Ground Zero had a good use of the DQ finish, as it showed that not even the entire roster could contain Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, bringing about the need of a structure big enough to hold them.
Also, Christian vs. Randy Orton was an awesome use of the DQ finish with the stip that Christian could win the title that way.

It's tricky to pull off successfully, especially when the idea for many of them is that WWE wants to run it again the next month and make the audience pay for it again (they even did it 2 straight years at SummerSlam with Batista). Here's my list of ones that I think were still satisfying despite a non-finish:
Austin vs. Dude Love - Unforgiven 1998 Austin vs. Kurt Angle - SummerSlam 2001 Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL - Judgment Day 2004 (not at the time, but in hindsight) Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk - The Bash 2009 (remember the awesome eye-injury angle?)

How many matches has he had where people have annoyed him and he hasn't been DQ'd before?

To be fair, having been playing WWE13, it wouldn't be the first time someone did something really stupid and irrational after being spat in the face.

Austin vs Angle in 2001 was the best way to do it.
It was built as Austin couldn't beat Angle. No matter what he did Angle kept coming, so you had Austin's desperation to keep the title.

It wasn't on PPV, but the Randy Orton / Jeff Hardy Intercontinental title match was brilliant. And hilarious.
As for a PPV one... Most of what I can think of has been mentioned, but to keep up the Orton theme at the moment, the Mania 25 match with Triple H should have ended in one.

Probably the best world title match ever on PPV to end with a DQ, and they did the right thing by not putting it on last.

Judgement Day 2000 had a great finish despite the fact you wouldn't usually want an iron match to end in a DQ.

Orton vs. Cena at NWO 2008. The crowd sure loved it and so did I.

People would probably complain if it happened today but Taker vs. Bret at One Night Only ended with {Spoiler}Bret being tied in the ropes and Taker attacking him relentlessly leading to a DQ The match was so good that I didn't even mind it.

I know its not really a DQ, but the Cena/Punk draw at Night of Champions was a great way to book the match. It showed that both superstars really wanted the title, and that they were both equals

Orton vs. Cena at NWO 2008. The crowd sure loved it and so did I. I was there live for that, and I don't I will ever see a crowd pop for a cheap DQ like that again. That pro-Orton contingent didn't care how it happened, we just wanted Cena to not walk out with the title.
