I know we have a few Cena fans here, but I want to know what you would want to do with John Cena to make him tolerable. Right now he seems to be in the spotlight but not so much the star of the show.
I personally would love to see him take a year break.
When he comes back have vignettes promoting his return kind of like the WWF Desire videos back in the day.
The night of his return his music hits and he comes dressed in a suit, he struts down to the ring and beats the living hell out of whoever the face champion at the time is, then Vince walks out and raises Cena's arm and declares him the new Corporate Champion..
Over the next couple of weeks we see Cena transform into a heel who would do anything for the WWE and VKM. His whole motivation is not for the fans but to better himself and make money. He can talk about how he gave his all for the company and nobody respected him for it, and we turned our back on him long before he gave up on us.. Each show he arrives in a WWE limo and steps out wearing suits from Mens Warehouse and the camera always pans to his a Rolex.
His wrestling gear could even consist of him wrestling in dress pants. His new merchindise would say things like "Money, Loyalty, and Fame" He could start saying the phrase "Money Talks and Bullshit Walks" all the time.
His new music would be Kanye West's Power
They could have him feud with everybody they built up in his absence. Hopefully a face Wade Barrett, Dean Ambrose, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk,
Then at Wrestle Mania he could fight the Undertaker..
Just my thoughts
Also have Tensai be Cena's enforcer..

WHAT AN ORIGINAL IDEA!
In all seriousness, I like the idea of Cena taking a LONG amount of time off (as in 6 months or more).

What really sucks is his feuds outside of the belt recently have really sucked. Whereas I think he could do well working with some undercard guys, the officials decide to stick him in crap with Johnny Ace and Vickie Guerrero and when that fails, they put him back in the title picture, which he's also stale in.
It's really a shame they never paired him up with Ryder and have them go on a terror in the tag division. It would bring focus to the titles once he and Ryder won them, it may elevate Ryder further and give him a good eventual feud with Zack once the Mega Broskis explode.

I don't care for Ryder, I know my idea would never work in a million years.. But the dude really does need a year long break. It's not him that causes them to lose ratings or gain ratings. WWE and wrestling is just Stagnent let him go home and dream it all up again.

Anything in the way of a heel turn would save Cena, but he's too much of a cash cow for the kiddies. He will persist.
It's sad because if you think back to when he was just a "wankster," he was a pretty good heel.

Cena can't ride on Hulkamania forever.. Even Hogan went Hollywood.

Allow him to show vulnerability.
Not the BS "how can Cena overcome this" vulnerability. Actual positions where the most of the audience is genuinely convinced he's not gonna make it out of this match.
That's what made Cena/Brock so special because John not only looked scared, he got the piss beaten out of him in a fashion that made Cena haters sympathetic.
People spontaneously chanted "never give up" to Cena, something unthinkable six months before and after that moment? Why? Because he was in a crappy place, being enslaved by Barrett in the Nexus. People felt for him and wanted to see him actually overcome that.
For all reputation of Hogan's superman comebacks Hulk would sell the s*** out of opponent's offense and spent much of the angle being injured and being in a bad place due to the big heel taking him out. Sting would get beaten down by the Horsemen and Vader a lot, but people cared because they were invested in seeing him win. Hell Cena had people cheering him after Edge cashed in the first time, because people could feel that he got screwed.
They are so terrified of having be in a bad place for any amount of time, they piss away chance after chance of allowing audience empathy and sympathy for him.

WWE and wrestling is just Stagnent let him go home and dream it all up again. It doesn't matter if YOU like Ryder. Hell, I don't even care for him, but it would be a complete change of pace for Cena. It allows him to focus on having some other goal outside of being the top dog, which he's already done countless times.

I like the idea of Cena/Ryder as a team. I don't think Cena needs a mega Hollywood Hogan style heel turn. And Cena's goofy smiling face character is actually pretty good. All Cena needs to be dialed back and not be the Be All End All of the WWE. And we were actually on our way to getting that with the AJ/Ziggler/Vickie angle. Even though he's been inserted back into the title picture, the focus is mostly on Ryback.

John Cena needs to dress like a white Kanye West and do Kanye West type stuff, but not in a heel way.
Like mid-match, he needs to demand they stop the match and show a replay of a move he just did on the Titan tron, "because those moves are dope."
Just something to show a little more character of some type. Pretty much anything would work though because he's pretty much devoid of it right now.

Turn him heel so he doesn't have to go out to a chorus of boos and act like "yeah, I know Vickie Guerrero pisses me off too!" It's beyond pathetic and it happens all the time.

Stop with "You're not the best in the world until you beat me" stuff first of all. Punk's beaten Cena at least twice and has outsmarted him in every match. Also, stopping the whole "Superman" thing couldn't hurt.

He could have a mental breakdown but I'm not sure WWE could do it right. He'd probably just come across as "whiny heel #847".

I agree with this post, especially the Lesnar part. It wasn't a {Spoiler}Cena wins moment and for the first time in a very very very long time, most didn't think Cena could overcome the odds. I wish they would have made the Punk/Cena face vs face instead of heel who gets cheered vs face who gets booed. Punk (or anyone who makes a long term feud with Cena) should've been the one guy who could beat Cena without resorting to heel like tactics. Have Punk be the one guy who has Cena's number and not the stupid cowardly heel crap! I believe that ship has already sailed though....

Just stop him telling lame jokes and forced comedy.
Cena is at his best when he's serious. Like this week going after Ziggler to protect AJ and last week when he grabbed Ziggler by the throat and threatened him.

His joke last night about himself was great. Cena's at a level where he can tow the line between kayfabe and reality, I'm not saying he should go to CM Punk levels of breaking it, but bending it just enough is fine for Cena. We do not need super SRS Cena all the time. Sheamus should fill that roll.
