Um, my only thing is I hate how there's this "JUST GET OUT AND VOTE - it doesn't even matter who you vote for or what you believe, but VOTE VOTE VOTE" attitude in the past few elections. Wouldn't people rather have educated, informed, rational voters? Or do they just want people randomly voting just to vote? Honestly, I haven't liked a presidential candidate in the past 16 years so I've never put my vote behind them and I don't believe in voting for 'the lesser of two evils' either as that's just as bad as voting for someone you don't believe in. The other half of the "JUST VOTE!!!!" stuff is "Well if you don't vote, then you don't have the right to complain!" Which just seems like the strangest kind of leveraging peer pressure to get someone to vote when they don't support either candidate. Honestly - if people put as much time/money/effort into actually working in their personal, daily life to affect change as they do in following election coverage, cajoling others into voting and patting themselves on the back for doing so, a real difference might, might actually be made. I like this post.

Could somebody give me or direct me to an impartial rundown of all the bad s*** each guy brings to the table? I don't feel like I know completely what I'm getting into. Right now I think they both suck with Obama being the lesser evil in all this. I would suggest going to Sites like League of Women's voters or VoteSmart or other sites of that ilk if you want to see the issues.

It's barely today yet. How can polls be closed when the ones in Michigan haven't even opened?

So I wanted to find an official election page where I could follow the results without having to depend on some news agency, but I can't seem to find one. In the US, is there no single government agency responsible for organizing, counting the votes and presenting the results of Presidential elections?
The only thing I could find was Federal Election Commission, but that's apparently only about campaign fundings.
I remember 2000, when it was reported that "News Channel X says Bush has won, while Channel Y isn't sure yet", to which I wondered "Well, what is the exact official result right now then?"

Whatever happens, I guarantee you that somebody will win the election.
Best of luck to whoever gets the chance to be President of Ohio.

So what channel will you guys be watching for the results? Comedy Central, and I'm serious. Daily Show and Colbert will be live, so I'll watch them. And here's hoping Billy Zane shows up on The Daily Show to continue to work with Jason Jones and Ollie. Yeah, I'm pathetic.

All I have to contribute is that I always wondered what Mitt was short for, so I wiki'd him, turns out his first name is Willard. Can't blame him for going for Mitt instead!

I actually forgot that the election was today, but glad to say that I already did early voting. It's going to be pretty interesting watching the results tonight (probably be watching on CNN or something), since the result isn't a virtual foregone conclusion like the last one.

One thing I'd like to get off my chest:
The VOTE VOTE VOTE campaigns here in Iowa kinda drive me crazy. It's called THE RIGHT TO VOTE, not VOTE OR YOU ARE THE WORST HUMAN EVER.

Voted for Obama. As for TV I'll be watching nothing to very little during the day, but at night it's ON! MSNBC, some ABC and NBC as I love politics.
