I always thought the guy was awful, to be honest. I never saw him as anything more than a huge, generic hoss who didn't really excel at any particular thing and whose size didn't make him in the least bit interesting because there were so many other generic hosses on WWE television at the time. The run on ECW was horrendous though. They'd taken this fairly ordinary worker and shaved him completely bald, then pushed him as a main eventer and expected fans to suddenly forget that he had been a weird comedy character and suddenly buy him as a monster heel seemingly because he didn't have hair anymore. They even gave him an undefeated streak like the previous run as a jobber never happenef

His look was cool too. Mike Patton on steroids should have been a license to print money. I've honestly never seen Patton in Snitsky until now. ... You've just ruined Mike Patton, I hope you're happy! Or made Snitsky a million times better?

The Undefeated Snitsky reaked of Vince.
No way the writers would ever choose that over weirdo Snitsky.

The problem was that he was just a generic monster who just happened to have bad teeth and acne.
What's so special about that?

He looked like a big, diseased penis.

I'll never forget the time Vince announced him as Cena's opponent on one Raw super-dramatically and it was just met with absolute dead silence. Plus side, damn was his theme music awesome. His theme was fantastic, even if it was just a remix of Pillman's Loose Cannon theme.

I hated him when he first debuted, warmed up to him during his face run, then went back to hating him when he became Kane Lite.

Bald Snitsky just reeked of the were tying to make him into next Sycho Sid only for it to fail miserably.
Mind you the only time I ever cared for him was when he paired together with Heidenreich.

I heard he actually dyed his teeth yellow for the gimmick. There was an interview on Aftermath a couple years ago where he said that he had to carry around a little jar of stuff and paint it on his teeth. According to him it was awful.

the thing I remember about Snitsky in ECW. Was he attacked Lashley, ECW champ, one week. Next week he goes after Punk, probably the next guy on the ECW chain. Neither Punk or Lashley ever go for retribution on Snitsky. Snitsky's next targets are Los Luchas, who were jobbed out minutes earlier to a returning Les Resistance.
Him on Raw was funny though as really nobody cared. I think the most memorable thing that happened was Punk broke his nose with the GTS

I hated it. They had a fun, goofy midcarder and got rid of him. IMO, Snitsky is one of those "cult legends", like a Steve Blackman.
They should've figured it wouldn't work. A year earlier, the guy was licking Mae Young's feet and rubbing Tomko's shoulders. Now he's supposed to be a legit bad guy.
I think the original plan with him was to build him as a challenger for Cena. Remember in '07, he had his "underdog" feuds with Umaga and Khali. The plan was to give Cena Hogan-like feuds against "monsters". This was why they turned Snitsky into a monster. Instead of a PPV, the match was just kind of a random one on Raw.

Yeah, it was a significant downgrade from weird-ass Snitsky. He was very good at that, but he was more silent with the bald gimmick, and his in-ring skills were simply not simply not good enough to carry him

"Wasn't My Fault" Snitsky was one of the most brilliant comedy characters in wrestling.
Bald, "I live to hurt people with boring brawling and chinlocks" Snitsky didn't work at all. His offense just wasn't impressive enough to push him on the idea that he's this super violent guy.

2004 baby killer it wasn't my fault Snitsky was great and probaly one of the most unintentionally funny wrestlers ever. Bald "undefeated" monster Snitsky was terrible. Just so ridiculous that they were trying push him as this big monster that everyone should be scared of when he had just been a comedy jobber face for like a year. Actually claiming that he was undefeated made it even worse. Did they really think anyone was buying that? I can understand if you want to repackage someone and give them a new push but at least keep them off TV for a while so then at least maybe fans can forget about him a little bit. Bringing him back after just a couple of months and trying to put him over as this force just because he had a new look was just dumb.
