I mean you talk about heat vacuums even Rob Conway was more over than Snitsky was during his ECW tenure.
I remember way back then someone suggested that he be revealed as Bobby Lashley's rejected stem cell clone and have the two make a monster tag team. Would've been better than the half-assed psycho gimmick, that's for sure.

Snitsky was not a bad worker (by big man standards). I just didn't understand why they didn't keep Snitsky as he was. He was serviceable on the mic, and had a catchphrase.
He was better off as the somewhat unhinged, but oddly likable and quirky sociopath than he was as a straight up psycho.

I'll never forget the time Vince announced him as Cena's opponent on one Raw super-dramatically and it was just met with absolute dead silence.
Plus side, damn was his theme music awesome.

It's weird how they tried to have Snitsky be sort of a "Kane-lite" when Kane is 1000000000x better at it in all aspects.

Snitsky was fine as a comedy monster-jobber with a foot fetish. It wad entertaining for the occasional skit and folks looked good beating him.
His bald run was awful though. I remember when Vince announced someones (Think it might have been Cena?) opponent as Snitsky expected a huge reaction and got silence.

I always thought the guy was awful, to be honest. I never saw him as anything more than a huge, generic hoss who didn't really excel at any particular thing and whose size didn't make him in the least bit interesting because there were so many other generic hosses on WWE television at the time.
The run on ECW was horrendous though. They'd taken this fairly ordinary worker and shaved him completely bald, then pushed him as a main eventer and expected fans to suddenly forget that he had been a weird comedy character and suddenly buy him as a monster heel seemingly because he didn't have hair anymore.
