The return of Lawler, which included C.M. Punk, Paul Heyman and Mick Foley all involved gained 745,000 viewers to a 3.38 quarter hour. The end of the angle lost 876,000 viewers. I'm very surprised that more people didn't give up on the show after what happened.

I think a 3 hour weekly show is just too long of a commitment. At least most sporting events that are similar in time have something called HALFTIME, or long organized breaks where I can go clean the kitchen and stretch my legs for 15-20 minutes. Right now, to actually watch RAW in normal format (no DVR, just sit and watch), you get about 3 hours (plus overrun) of sitting on your butt with nothing but 2 minute breaks unless you just flat out give up on segments and walk away. Agreed with all this, so all I'm gonna say is yeah. Who's bright idea was it to agree to make RAW three hours anyway, especially when their three hour RAW's usually don't do the best anyway and they can't seem to do anything with the two hours of RAW (and six hours accumulative) they had already?

Also, is it just me or has Cena vs. Punk maybe lost its luster? It was great at MitB and even Summerslam but they just keep doing it.

Hopefully that will be enough to show the WWE that what they did was f***ing disgusting.

WWE especially has this problem since there's, what, eight hours of programming a week? Cena/Punk is so overdone at this point that there's no enjoyment out of any new match that's announced between the two of them.

Yep USA network was demanding it basically. I know that much: that's why I caught myself from asking "who's idea was it," replacing it with "who's idea was it to agree to it." Someone at Titan Towers had to have known it was a bad idea. Did they really think that it could work, or are they that hard up for money that they couldn't say no? Or maybe I'm underestimating the power of the network...

Though when it came time for them to renew their contracts with USA. The network pretty much demanded the move to 3 hours.

The AJ scandal angle seems to be drawing in viewers and the crowd seems interested in it. So I guess it's been a success for the WWE so far.

So, a load of people turned in to see the return of Jerry Lawler and got a heel promo instead, so they left. Sounds about right.

Or maybe I'm underestimating the power of the network... WWE lives and dies off the TV money now so they are in no position to tell USA no and even if that wasn't the case, USA/NBCU is the only (Decent) outlet they have willing to air their stuff so they couldn't tell them no.
