1.1 - best in a long time
source: Wrestlingobserver.com
So it seems that the viewing audience doesn't really care/notice if the show is live or not...

Yea, I think the taped=lower ratings thing is really overstated. That said, I personally prefer live much more, just because it feels different to me.

It's a proven television fact that it doesn't matter. 99% of stuff on TV isn't live - and cannot be. Yet doesn't affect its ratings.

It was the first show after a PPV, after all. Naturally, there's going to be a bump.

People giving educated guesses on TNA's ratings is always funny to me. It appears to be completely random. All you can ever really tell from their ratings is that they have a hardcore fanbase that will tune in no matter what and that there are hardly ever any new viewers.

There is a reason sports are shown live Granted, wrestling is in a grey area I really wouldn't call it a grey area any more. It's been episodic based for about 30 years. I think comparisons to sport are only relevant in terms of the audience demographic it gets. But James Bond, Star Wars and 24 are shows/movies watched mainly by males too and they don't consider themselves sport. You see whenever Raw is up against a football game people excuse like a 0.2 ratings dip as 'Oh they lost viewers to the match' - as if the two share the same audience at all. I really, really don't think they do. Not to any significant degree.

Sport has to be live, If the television networks show it on tape delay they're going to take a hit because people will find the result online or on the radio or somewhere else.
Sports fans generally only care about the result though, With wrestling fans people want to watch the show for entertainment value or the story lines the results really don't matter.
NFL on a tape delay would have quite a significant drop but WWE or TNA, not so much
