If it ever came down to it, could Kofi pull off a believable and credible heel turn?

If done as it was done in WWE FAN, yes
In other words, put him on a losing steak, have him win by cheating, have him turn heel on his opponent, have Kofi take out an announcer, then presto, he is a heel

It could work if you put Kofi as an asshole smiling douchebag and have him be credibly strong without needing to cheat. It would work very well actually. That's the only kind of heel I can imagine Kofi being.

They should give it a try. It's not like Kofi can get any worse...
Iactually think he will turn heel soon. WWE seem to be building to it anyway.

Who knows?
A lot of people didn't seriously think heel R-Truth would lead to anything special, and he did. So maybe Kofi could pull it off.
I don't see a reason to, though. He's pretty over as a face and the midcard doesn't a lot of credibly-booked faces as it is (Kofi, Truth, now Miz... Santino and Ryder are basically jobbers, and Sin Cara is in a team).

I always reference a pre-WWE Kofi promo (Well he wasn't called Kofi then), with friends which was pretty good. He was (possibly) using a Jamaican accent, I believe it was an "Anti America" schtick-but I saw this during his BIG PUSH (feuding w/Orton) and thought he was good. I think that a lot of folks if given a bit of latitude to go outside the narrow WWE confines, could pull off a heel turn. Don't get me wrong, Cesario has the "Anti America" thing locked down pretty well right now, I don't mean that Kofi would need to do that specifically. Also, probably due to his style (and his looks?) people seem to want to cheer for him.

It would work and I think they're going for it. In fact,I wouldn't be surprised to see a double turn with Miz and Kofi.

He might be able to pull it off, but he's best suited as a babyface.

Yes and I would pull the trigger on it at Survivor Series. The match would be down to Miz and Kofi taking on Barrett, Miz is in and going back and forth with Barrett when suddenly Kofi comes in and hits Miz with Trouble In Paradise. He stands over Miz and does the "Boom! Boom! Boom!" taunt as Barrett gets the 1...2...3. Kofi is smiling ear to ear before he rolls out the ring and gets himself counted out. Done and done.

If he had turned on R Truth it would have worked I have no doubt.

Thanks MrTuesday for posting the clip. My memory is so unreliable sometimes. I didn't realize he was Kofi then. Think I'll rewatch it. I think some of 'us' (people who spend free time posting on these boards) might be able to get behind Heel Kofi, if done well, but I still contend the majority of fans that go to the events seem like they want to root for him.

I say have his perpetual upbeatness while still being a heel.
Making him truly insane. Make him have that relaxed stoner smile on his face that says 'hey I'm popular with males, but kids like me too because of my fun lovin' attitude!' while he's breaking a jobber's legs.
And when people ask him how he can do such despicable things, have him flat out deny it and act like he doesn't know what they're talking about.

I want them to just slow it down and put at the start "I woke up in a bad man place!". Yes, I know he'd look like a horse's ass, but it'd be great.

No, Kofi Kingston is like a modern day Steamboat/Sting. He just doesn't work as a heel.

Biggest problem was this is an AWFUL heel promo, generic, tired and lacking in anything interesting.
