Maybe an odd choice, but Greys Anatomy.
I decided to watch the first season when it started for some reason, and I actually thought it was fun. Characters weren't bad, they were somewhat charming, and it wasn't over the top or stupid yet. Seemed like it had potential. I actually still own Season 1.
Season 2 wasn't too bad either, but it had some really goofy moments. The bomb episode being one of them.
Then after that the wheels came off. Icicles stabbing people and f***ing hallucinations? As in BANGING a hallucination. Those happened.
I stopped watching a few seasons ago.

In Living Color once the Wayan's family, Jim Carrey and most of the originals left. There were some painfully unfunny seasons with Jamie Foxx and the Korean guy doing stuff.

How I Met Your Mother has gone downhill pretty steep since Lily and Marshall became parents.

Louie. The first two season were great but I have been watching season 3 and I feel it lost something. It is not a great show anymore.

House just dove right off a cliff after the whole House/Cuddy breakup. Just ugh.

it still fell off a cliff, regardless of how many gumps kept watching it. Also, Dexter, which went from good to so crappy that I can barely remember the fact that it was actually good so gradually I barely noticed can't believe I forgot Dexter. first season was fantastic, second season was boring as hell and aside from a good 4th season the show never really recovered its momentum. it never got stupid or anything (though Edward James Olmos being a ghost was a little silly and felt like something Vince Russo would write), it was just missing something after season 1. I have a somewhat different point of view regarding Dexter. Season 1: Pretty awesome. The characters were strong and interesting. The storyline was solid (being the only season based off of one of the novels helps with that). Season 2: A natural progression of Season 1. Cannot say that I was a fan of having the Lila West character, but in the end she was necessary to drive the plot. The character development of Dexter, Debra, and Doakes were intriguing to me. Season 3: This season was really weak. Debra's part was a little interesting with the hunt for The Skinner, but this is one thing that adding Jimmy Smits to did not help. Season 4: Obviously a high point. I doubt anyone who watches the show disliked the season. Season 5: There were elements that I liked. I actually liked the Lumen character and her overall story. I think that this season is one that was hurt by there only being 12 episodes to a season. The set-up for the season's main storyline took a little long and Johnny Lee Miller did not get enough time to really make Jordan Chase measure up to The Trinity Killer. In all honesty, the show might have been better served if he escaped and returned at a later time. Lumen could have spent the time between Season 5 and 6 under Dexter's tutelage and left to pursue Chase at the beginning of Season 6. Season 6: This season was a little too jumpy for my tastes. This season would have benefited from another 2 or 3 episodes being in the season as they wanted to tell a lot of stories but did not have enough time to develop any of them adequately. I actually did not mind Travis Marshall's Dark Passenger having an incorporeal form that he interacted with. We have seen Dexter do the same for years. Season 7: This season has gone pretty well. The only upsetting thing for me is that Louis is gone. There seemed to be some indication that he might have known about Dexter and I thought that he might have become a main villain in Season 8.

I'm not all the way through it yet (so please, no spoilers) but the drop-off in quality between Homeland Season 1 and 2 is massive. Louie. The first two season were great but I have been watching season 3 and I feel it lost something. It is not a great show anymore. I completely disagree with these two. I will agree with Heroes and How I Met Your Mother, while adding The Office post Michael Scott Paper Company storyline, Modern Family post season 1, Simpsons post season 10, Family Guy post season 3, Twin Peaks post reveal, Supernatural post season 5 (not that I don't still enjoy it), and one thing about Dexter... -I thought the show had a HUGE decline with the massive copout in the Season 2 finale -Season 4 helped a bit with Lithgow, but it still had significant issues -Season 5 was sloping down again -Season 6 was some of the worst television around -Season 7 is a massive, massive turn around simply because I think Stevenson is the most captivating villain the show has ever had

Malcolm in the Middle.
The show started off with absolute gold in the first 2 seasons, had a mostly decent third season, started to stagnate a little in the 4th season, which is understandable.
And then, Season 5, and everything after that. HOO BOY.
The show became an absolute mess of Flanderization and completely unlikeable characters. Absolutely dreadful, and tragic to see the bloom fall off the rose like that.

I'd say Power Rangers once half the cast went away and they did the movie. After that it just wasn't the same at all to me.

How I Met Your Mother has gone downhill pretty steep since Lily and Marshall became parents. Hate to admit, but I agree. They just seem to be treading water this season until Ted finds the mother, as Season 8 is supposedly the final season. It's just at this point, I already want this over with and want Ted to find the mother, tie up all the arcs, and end it.

The only Dexter season that I didn't like was the third. I skipped most of it.
Agree somewhat with Homeland. I'm really over the "Carrie does whatever she wants" moments that keep happening.

I don't watch Glee, but I know it mutated from a grounded, somewhat realistic dramedy to a plastic, hollow mishmash.
Didn't they pretty much ruin Jane Lynch after the first season when she won an Emmy?
Hopefully it gets cancelled this year so Lynch can be awesome again.

Andromeda - sometime during the second season this show went from being a rather unique, fun and interesting take on the Sci-Fi Space Opera genre to being a really bad Star Trek rip-off. It also became more and more focused on how Dylan Hunt was the greatest man who ever lived, especially in that last season.

I never watched Heroes, so for me this is epitomized by Prison Break.
An absolutely fantastic first season, a second season that squandered potential but was still alright, then every thing after that just awful. Just just awful.
The show was originally planned as 14-part miniseries and honestly it should've stayed that way.

Zod yes, when season 3 became a rehash of season 1 minus the best character (Kellerman) that's when I gave up. I watched a few episodes in season 3, but damn the fun and excitement was gone.

Torchwood S1 - Started at the bottom of the cliff surrounded by sharks, it was meant to be "adult" but seemed to be written by 14 year olds.
S2 - Clawing it's way up the cliff, this is actually pretty good.
Children of the Earth - Holy s*** this is amazing! It's made it to the top of this metaphorical cliff. Peter Capaldi stole the show.
Miracle Day - Oh dear it's fallen of the cliff again, to be fair it was a good premise but they stretched about 3 episodes worth of material over 10 episodes.
And that is symptomatic of most of the shows mentioned in this thread, many should have been one series stories (Heroes, Homeland) and all of them have been dragged way past their natural conclusion (Dexter should have been caught in S5).
