I read this as "Should Bossman have done a 5th Bond film?" and the answer is unequivocally yes.

Honestly, Die Another Day doesn't get enough hate. Too true. It's an abomination of a film. As I've said before I walked out of this at the Cinema and I'm a huge Bond fan. There have been a few Bond films that have been crap but none of them made them take the step of rebooting the series.

Great Bond, with increasingly awful movies. Yeppers. The dude had charm and charisma out the wazoo, but scripts that were worse and worse and god awful supporting casts. No it does not, that is an AED, a portable defibrillator. Vesper uses it on him. Those things exist and are in every place I work and i have to be trained on them. Now he didn't exactly put the pads on the right way, but his car did nothing, it was just in the glove box.

The problem was that his movies got worse as each went by, not better.
He peaked at his first Bond movie, Goldeneye. Everything else just didn't measure up. As other people have said, not his fault.

And ya know, Alec was one of my favorite Bond villains, being the dark counter part to James was fantastic and a great idea. I would kind of like to See Brosnon take this role for Craig. A former senior agent gone rogue would be pretty awesome. A tribute to Goldeneye and an awesome potential story.

I'd rather have more Tim Dalton Bonds than more Pierce Brosnan Bonds. I second this. Dalton is the most underrated Bond, and at least the 2nd or 3rd best ever IMO. Maybe more than any of the others he had that cold personality that comes to my mind when I think of a spy.

Brosnan, to me, was the best Bond. More well-rounded than the Bonds that came before him, even if two of his films were among the worst in the franchise.
IMO Craig is Bond in name only. Cannot fault his acting, which has been first rate, but the last three films could have been part of the Bourne franchise and I don't think anybody would really notice.

I love Brosnan's Bond and I hate that he went out with Die Another Die and not the epic that should have ended his Bond career. And I do like Die Another Day for what it is, which is pure over-the-top escapism. That being said, I also love Casino Royale with Craig, and I wouldn't necessarily want to sacrifice that for a fifth Brosnan film.

I'd rather we never had Brosnan, I would've preferred to see Timothy Dalton take over as Bond in 1973 and run with it until 2002. There are a lot of Moore and Brosnan films that would've been better with him in the role. (See: The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, Goldeneye, and TWINE.) Then again I'm a huge Dalton fan. I believe both For Your Eyes Only and GoldenEye were written for Dalton. Then Moore decided to stick around (FYEO) and Dalton decided not to stick around (Goldeneye). And FYEO wound up being one of my favorite Moore Bonds (I prefer Live and Let Die), and GoldenEye is my favorite from Brosnan. Having said that, I still enjoy Moore (even if he did ultimately stay too long in the role) and I like Brosnan (though he's my least favorite Bond). Not sure how I'd feel with Dalton in the role for so long, even if he is my favorite Bond.
