Exactly, Yangus. My guess, it goes something like
Voice coach: OK guys, you're big, you're muscle-bound, we just need to work on your mic skills. OK, repeat after me...BLAAAAAAARGRRR
Student/Hoss: Um, but, I've been an actor for a long time, I know how to deliver lines
Coach: (Snapping and getting in the student's face) Listen, I'M the coach, when I say BLARRRRRRRRRGRAAAAAAR, you WILL listen, do I make myself clear?

Too answer the original question I love the pairing of Kane and Big Show. I think its just what both characters needed, there was no way after the storylines they had done recently to turn both characters back into unstopable forces, but you pair them up, and BAM! unstoppable force. And when they finally split, both characters will have more momentum then they had going in, and they're just fun to watch together in the meantime.

Honestly, I'd rather they keep good mic hosses than, say, Bobby Lashley. Or Brock Lesnar (even though he had matwrestling skillz~, he couldn't speak for crap). I never get where this comes from. Didn't anyone see the promo Brock did on Eddie when he came out with the Mexican guitar players and sombraro? It was gold. He was better than Batista or Chris Masters on the mic. I know that's not saying much, but he wasn't as bad as everyone thinks.

I think Big Show and Kane are ok, but I'm not a big fan of make shift main event teams that just get the title because they're doing nothing with the tag team division.
Hosses do get a bad name though. There are lots of good ones. A-Train for example was someone who was always ragged on, but was really good in the ring. He knew how to wrestle a good match. No, he wasn't all technical and everything, but he had intensity with his moves, he moved around pretty fast for a guy his size, and was generally entertaining to watch. He had some great matches with Chris Benoit too I remember. It's a shame he ended up on the chopping block.
Of course there's also The Undertaker, Matt Morgan was ok, and there are others. Nathan Jones was an example of a hoss who was terrible. Basically, hosses tend to have a lot of intensity with their moves. Tomko's boot is an example of an intense move. Nathan Jones didn't have that, and was very bad in the ring. Most hosses aren't that fast and don't use technical wrestling that much, but make up for it with intensity and strong striking moves. Jones wasn't like that at all, and was very boring in the ring.

Snitsky & Tomko together probably make them the most comedic hoss tag team ever. First, you have Snitsky, the foot-loving weirdo and just oozes charisma, and second, you have Tomko, with all the charisma of a pet rock and is slightly freaked out by his partner.
And third, ZE BEERDS!!!

Yes, let's completely forget that he injured Stevie Richards, has the charisma of a rock, and has less moves in his arsenal than Hulk Hogan.

ZOMG CHRIS MASTERS CAN'T DO THE FLIPPY-FLIPPY!!! TAKE HIM BEHIND THE ARENA AND SHOOT HIM!!! It's not that he can't do flips. It's that he can't do anything.Seriously, people actually LIKE monster heels, even smarks do. People just don't enjoy hosses who CAN'T WRESTLE.

I've always been as likely to like a big wrestler as any other. I was an Andre fan, and like The Big Bossman, Earthquake, Undertaker and Kane, among others. A giant, hedd-butting Samoan will always make me smile.
The Kane/Show team is fine.
I also think that Kane, though I'm now very used to his moves, is a bit of a surprise. He's always done more than you'd expect in the ring and, heck, his is a gimmick that really shouldn't have been able to survive for years once the Undertakker stories were finished and, it did.
Show gets a lot of criticism, and a lot of it's deserved, but this is the sport where you're supposed to have a mythically-sized guy involved. I think, but don't remember right now, that RD once summed up the Show/Andre difference, in terms of their physical presence as Show seeming like a normally proportioned human, but just big while Andre seemed more of a fairy tale giant. But, whatcha gonna do about that?
Anyway, I don't hate a wrestler just for being 300 pounds plus. I don't even hate a guy, of any size, for having mostly a kick and punch offense, provided it's done well and makes sense. Wrestling's hard. People of all sizes try, but don't do it well. On the other hand, perhaps nobody's as bad as El Gigante was.

I actually like the big guys, heck i even like Lashley for reasons i cant comprehend myselve, what i dont like is the lack of diversity and how easy this guys have it, now you dont necesarily need to do a "flipy flipy" but mat skills of some kind should be required, its like they scout these guys in the gyms and go " you look huge want to be trained for 2 months and then be placed on tv in a spot guys half your size been training for years to be at?"
About the Big Red Show i like it, neither character was going nower and they fit really good with each other.

I'm the rare soul who loves the big guys and changes the channel when cruiserweights are on. I like wrestling in the larger-than-life scheme of things. I don't want to believe that someone my size could survive in wrestling and I'm even bigger than all the cruiserweights.
As for Kane/Show. I loved Kane as the unstoppable monster where you didn't know what was under the suit. Now I still really like him. I loved the Giant as the huge guy who could do dropkicks and did some top-rope moves. But that was 8 years and 150 pounds ago. I cannot stand the Big Show now. If he shows up every now and then fine, but I don't want to see him pushed as his immobility makes his moves look unconvincing.

Far as I'm concerned, Big Show is what he is, and he's a change of pace from the rest of the show.
Kane, on the other hand, is an outstanding big man worker.
But I really feel sorry for guys like Masters and Lashley. It's WWE's fault for bringing them up so soon and for believing that hosses are the be-all end-all of wrestling. So what do they do? Train guys for the bare minimum amount of time and then toss them on TV. If every big man got the amount of training to be at a level somewhere in the ballpark of Kane, that'd be awesome. My only complaint then would be a lack of variety.
The problem, I feel, isn't really a matter of not liking the hoss style; I've been a Kane-onite from day one. It's a matter of seeing too much of it. WWE wants as many hosses on TV as possible...whereas they could easily have hosses here, cruiserweights there, medium guys thisaway.
And I believe the #1 rule is: don't hate on the hosses, hate on WWE for obsessing over them.

Were does Bam-Bam fit in the hoss parthenon? Bam Bam's another guy who, before the last few years, wouldn't have been considered a "hoss", as he was NOT green, slow, or plodding. However, now that the term seems to encompass all superheavyweights, I suppose Bam Bam would be considered one of the better ones.

And I believe the #1 rule is: don't hate on the hosses, hate on WWE for obsessing over them. You nailed it... it's all in the booking. I think thhat a lot of people get mad because, way too often, when they start getting behind a "smaller" worker, they too soon see the guy in the ring, trying to delever some spiel, then hear Kane's music, or Big Show's music, or Taker's music and from there, it's a short trip to Squashville (also known as Shashylvania, Squashburgh and Swashabama, okay, I'll stop...)
