I was in 6th grade.
I went to the Maury Povich show BEFORE it was about paternity tests. Then it was just a quirky little family show.
It was about people wanting to get into professions they weren't suited for. So you had this one guy who said he could be a pro wrestler with no training or experience.
Low and behold to my shock and surprise... Mosh and Thrasher, The Headbangers emerge from the back. I marked big time! You would have thought Bret Hart walked through the curtain or something.
The show ends and my mother and I randomly pass them as we leave.
My mother tells them "He LOVES wrestling".
Nice guys too.
I shake both their hands and the whole day was just like "Wow. I met the Headbangers! I'm never washing this hand again!"
Sadly these were the only wrestlers I have ever seen or met in person.
Anyone else ever met a jobber(s) and was just as excited as meeting a main event star?

As a kid, I was at a mall near the New Hampshire/Massachusetts border when I saw Al Snow walk out of a Lids store.
I silently marked out proceeded to run away because I was afraid of him seeing me. Then again, I did have/still kind of have serious social anxiety. My mom has never let me live it down.
I wonder what kind of cap he was buying.

Never met any wrestlers, but honestly, I think I'd be pretty psyched if I ever got to meet say, the Mean Street Posse. Moreso than an opportunity to meet a big name.

I met Funaki at a Walmart in San Antonio. I nervously told him I was a fan and let him continue his shopping. He was looking at cabinets.
I also saw him wandering around North Star Mall one time but didn't talk to him then.

At WM-X7, during the fan Axxcess here I was doing the commentary boot with my then gf when Crash Holly took her headset and made fun of Mankind for a few seconds. I was speechless for a sec. he went on and then when he was done he shook my hand. I still have the tape and I kinda mark out when I think about it.

I walked into the bathroom at an IWA MS show right before Chris Candido died in Bloomington and he was standing there butt naked grooming in the mirror...awe what the hell would be the appropriate response

I met Paul Birchill a couple of times - once at an OVW show and again at Bragging Rights. The OVW meeting was cool because he had seen me at shows before, and introduced me to his partner at the time, a tall gentleman with slick black hair, crooked nose and a thick British accent... what was his name....

I still remember going to a house show in '96 with some of my family. My cousin and I spotted Henry Godwinn walking around, and we marked out for some reason.

I met Harry Smith at Chicago Comic-Con. I spent the next ten minutes silently marking out.

I also saw him wandering around North Star Mall one time but didn't talk to him then. I met Funaki at Mr. Panda's Chinese restaurant at Highway 281 & Bitters back in 1999. I had just been to a TWA show that he was on and my friend and I recognized him right away. I went up to the buffet line and told him I was a fan and had just seen him the previous week, and he was really nice and thanked me for being a fan. Spoke good English. Oh, and he was wearing a Shawn Michaels t-shirt

I was excited to meet one of the Baldies and the Amish Roadkill, and not a jobber but I met king kong bundy and the Iron Sheik. My friends uncle used to run a small company on Long Island and I met them there

I never really considered the Headbangers to be jobbers.
