I remember being hyped for the Hardy/Orton match with the epic build. Still think Hardy should have kicked out of the initial RKO in the match, only to get pinned by another.

LOVED that Hardy V. Orton match. In particular, I thought the finish was awesome.

I WAS THERE!!!!! Surprisingly, I thought the Orton/Hardy match was meh, mainly due to seeing a version of that match at a house show 3 weeks prior. The pop Cena got...OMG.

I was just excited that Cena returned to stop Triple H from winning the Rumble and taking the title at Mania (of course he did a month later and held it forever and ever and ever and ever anyway).

That Jeff Hardy Rooftops promo is still one of the best tribute vids ever made. Top 5 for sure.

7 posts before "Jeff Harvey"?
I enjoyed Cena back, the title match was good, and HBK and Taker starting was a nice touch from the previous year.

Damn good show from top to bottom.
Both world title matches were great and Cena entering at number 30 was something I don't think even the most inside of insiders saw coming. It was fantastic.

i was there live, and i loved the show. Smarks turned into marks when they heard Cena's music hit. Now THAT was a suprise unlike Edge, and likely Orton victory this year. Snuka and Piper were great, but even though it had Big Dick Johnson, Santino's promo was fantastic, "OH No a mosquito I'm scared let's lose the playoffs" when referencing NY sports teams. It was a a week before the Giants/Patriots superbowl so the garden was amped for that and the "Let's go Giants" chants were awesome and loudest of the night, prompting Santino to say "Nobody cares about the Stupid Giants!" in frustration." The debut of Mike Adamle was rememerable, and Michael Buffer to introduce the rumble match was unreal. Kinda hoping it would become an annual tradtion. Rumble match was solid (not as good as 07, but it was the last good one to date.) Anyway in short, so much to like. Unlike other rumbles that are just centered around the rumble match and a filler undercard, this one had a lot going for it.

Honestly this show caused me to take a break from wrestling for a couple of years, didn't start watching regularly again till 2010. Jericho's return was sort of an anti-climax, I wasn't interested in Orton, and Triple H seemed geared to be going for Part II of his Reign of Terror.
Cena entering and winning the Rumble was the last straw for me. I'd got tired of Cena's 2007 reign and he was beyond stale for me at that point, so I never saw it as some huge surprising mark-out moment, it felt like the WWE was just reinforcing the status quo when they could have given someone else a shot.

I was also there. So many great moments. Flair's last MSG ppv moment, Edge being cheered while Mysterio was booed out of the building, Santino (I'm a huge giants fan, i hated his guts right then), Buffer, Rumble starting out with Taker/HBK, Snuka and Piper going at it, and Cena returning. Great event to be at.
