...that we see The Rock as a surprise entrant in the Rumble this year?
Not sure if anyone has considered it, but it'd be pretty electric if Cena was on an elimination streak only to hear IF YUH SUHMELLL! followed by Rock walking out to the ring, throwing Cena out and then leaving himself.

I would say it is all but guaranteed IMO.
Come in at the tail end and he and Cena have a dramatic staredown exchange very few shots before being eliminated by someone perferably ziggler.
Basically give a heavy tease as IMO I do not see at all how they pass the rumble without a Rock and Cena confrontation.

I don't see the Rock losing the Rumble so if he's in then he's winning. No ifs ands or buts about it. He was sticking his boot so deep into Awesome Truth's ass and these are the two guys who "had the whole WWE locker room walking out because they didn't feel safe"....so if the Rock wins then he wins the Rumble and heads to Mania but what about the WWE title? Well obviously Cena would win before that. I hear they're debating about whether to put the title on the line and if so Cena's going to have it. Cena goes onto the EC and wins become champion thus setting up WM's title defense? Not sure.
Doubt it though.

What would be the point of him or Cena even being in the Rumble? Unless WWE puts the belt on either guy between now and then, neither one of them should have a "reason" to be in it, unless they want to pull double duty.

If the Rock were to show up, he'd be number 2 and Cena would be number one. Rock would then sneak attack Cena and throw him out. Then, much later into the match, Cena comes back out, beats up Rock, and then Rock gets thrown out, and he and Cena brawl to the back.

Why would Cena be in the Rumble if he's not challenging for a title at Wrestlemania? Unless he does what he did in 2008 and uses the title shot at Elimination Chamber.
.....
Oh god, Cena's winning the Rumble isn't he?

I'd say the odds are just about as good as they can get.
I might just facepalm clear through the back of my head if the Rock wins the Rumble, which I wouldn't put it past them to do.

It will be either Cena and Rock, or neither. They'll be in to confront each other, rather than one being in without the other.

I don't want him to win either, but I think Cena has to at least be in the Rumble and the Elimination Chamber. Even though I hope Rock/Cena isn't for the WWE title, there's no good reason for his character not to try to win the belt so that can happen. Besides, the only reason he turned down a title shot at TLC was out of guilt for beating Ryder and denying him a US title shot, and that was agonizingly difficult for him to do. He's got no such reason to be empathetic towards the other 29 Rumble participants.

The way I see it, right now Cena's underlying story is that he needs the title but can't get it.
Rock's goal to make Cena look like a chump at this point.
So when it looks like Cena may win the Rumble, Rock enters, disqualifies Cena, and then leaves. He doesn't necessarily want the title, unless he's stripping it from Cena, so he has no need to win the Rumble. He just wants to make sure Cena doesn't get it back so he'll look like a fool when he shows up at WrestleMania without the title as he'd promised.

I can see his music at least playing and leading to a Cena elimination.

This was actually one of the things I thought could happen in the Rumble...but I guess we're too close to Rumble time for it to happen now.
I figured Cena could pick up the belt somewhere before the Rumble and then the Rock might come in and win.
