I saw the Bad 25 documentary last night, pretty good except from the likes of Bieber and Brown who will NEVER, EEEEVER be on the likes of Jackson's level soiling it with their presence, I honestly forgot he was gone until they got the part where they all got asked where they were when Jacko passed. The guy is still sorely missed.

I was one of the lucky few to actually attend the memorial at staples center in LA. Was a surreal experience to say the least. I still have my wristband, ticket, and program locked up

I must admit I was half expecting the funeral to end with MJ sitting up in the coffin and giving everyone a wave.

Sometimes, I feel the same way about Eddie Guerrero. I know it has been a while since both have passed, but I still find it surreal sometimes that they are both gone.

I mean, Michael was a next-level entertainer. Just watching This Is It, it's so clear he still had the skill and the talent. If that tour went off, it woulda been amazing, a second life for him. Alas...

Maybe it's just me. But sometimes, just sometimes I wonder if he's even really dead. I remember reading a lot of letters he wrote that were made public, hearing interviews, and a lot of times he stated he wanted to fake his death or disappear.
In one letter he wrote he said and these are the exact words I am paraphrasing here: "I always felt I would die like Elvis and then come back shocking people. It would be bigger than Elvis."
Of course it's all speculation on my part. But I do wonder sometimes if he did pull it off.

I can't watch This Is It without bursting into tears. The old saying "You never know how good you have it until it is gone." is absolutely true in Michael's case. I'm old enough and lucky enough to have got to watch him ride the rocket of fame with Thriller, Bad and Dangerous, but the flip side is when all the weirdness and rumor finally caught up to him. My deepest regret, aside from never seeing him live, is once in a while dropping a joke at his expense, just for the laugh.
The day of his death and memorial service still haunt me. Outside of family deaths and the day my ex left me, I have never cried as hard as I did during the memorial service. Tears for the loss, tears for the memories, but most of all, regret. Just so many regrets for a man whose music I listened to for years, a talent I respected and am still in absolute awe of.
So, yes, I still miss him. Every time a song of his plays, I remember and I smile. I still watch his Dangerous concert from Bucharest every New Year's Eve since his death as a tradition. 'Man in the Mirror' remains my all time favorite song and every time I play it, I remember, I smile, sometimes a tear or two, but always draw inspiration from two simple lines "If you want to make the world a better place/Take a look at yourself, then make the change." Not a bad lesson, not a bad way to live.
