you have a sparring partner that is a douchebag. LOL @ UFC 2010. You're supposed to be helping me sharpen my skills, guys. But no, no, you bring in some clown that's trying to show me up to make a name for himself in training camp and make my training go as poorly as possible. If I ever meet someone named Rob Pearsall in real life, I'm swinging on him. So damn annoying, you're knocking out Cain Velasquez in 3 minutes, but Ed the sparring partner knows what your planning before you do.

Maximum Carnage is generally easy and then you get raped in the boss fights.

Catherine. Dear god, Catherine!
I love the story and characters and the gameplay isn't bad, but the difficulty spikes so badly about halfway through the game and now I'm just stuck. Almost considering giving up on the game......
Oh and I'm on the easiest setting.

Thought of another game that was too brutal in Silver Surfer for the NES. It would have been an awesome game if you could take a couple more hits before dying or if there wasn't so much shit flying about.

Yep i know the feeling,i think im around the 5th level now,and its getting really really tough, espicially with the ice blocks which i keep sliding off to my doom...Quality game though..
Another for me would be Resonance Fate, looks like a really fun game but i just cannot get used to the battle system and have had to give it up early on since i was dying all the time within the first big boss i encountered with.

If you really want to torture yourself with Catherine, unlock Babel mode and witness the horror of randomly generated puzzles.

The level I'm stuck on is the 8th one I think. The 5th one is a cake walk compared to it. The main reason the 8th level is so hard for me is because you have to get through this level pretty fast, but when I try to scale the tower fast I end up always getting myself into a dead end and usually can't backtrack to a part of the tower where I could make a better path because too many blocks have fallen off by then, and when I try to go a slow, thought out path, well, I get killed by the level boss. You have to somehow be fast, but slow at the same time.

I can make Anderson Silva tap in no time flat to a flying heel hook, but some random wanker they've roped in can get out of it and make me tap? Bollocks! Also, Dark Souls. I know it's half of the appeal, but I end up getting really into it, then killed when carrying large amounts of souls, and stop playing for months.

Resonance of Fate A very good RPG with a great combat system, good plot, great characters, fun dialogue and yet... it is insanely difficult. One little mistake in a battle can spell game over. The in-game tutorial is useless for the combat system which is extremely complex (yet awesome once you grasp it). The save point is away from the battle areas meaning you have dozens of long, extremely difficult battles one after another with a boss fight at the end and no opportunity to save. I liked the difficulty, made it a challenge but it was too frustrating mainly due to the lack of save points. Was so annoying to win every battle, level up your characters etc only to end up making a wrong move or pressing the wrong button during the next battle leading to a game over and then having to redo it all again. I ended up quitting on about stage 6

Some of the later Metal Slug bosses are just insane - there is this one robot that I think you'd have to be an AI to defeat without many, many deaths.
