Man, you just know Bryan is taking the fall. That's ok. It should still be a very good match.

Wade Keller on Twitter: Completely Unfounded Conspiracy Theory of Day: Punk pulled from PPV for calling 3 hr Raws dismal. Has optional knee surgery as cover story. So they punish Punk by......keeping him as WWE champion in a record-setting title reign? That makes a ton of sense. Again, he qualifies it with the above bolded to let people know there is no truth to it.

Damn.... I wonder how they'll handle the Rock match at RR now. I don't see how Punk can be ready in a month after any knee surgery.

CM Punk and his surgery is currently the top trending news item on Yahoo.

I don't want to downplay any kind of surgery, but a scoping doesn't have nearly as long a recovery time as many other surgeries. But, it's CM Punk, so it's undoubtedly a knee scoping the likes of which you've never seen before!

Punk once wrestled for several months with a cracked skull, I'm sure he'll be ready by Rumble time.

Only just caught up on all this.
Not surprised at some the hysteria, mainly before more info came through. But it wouldn't matter if Punk only had one leg left, he'd be in that Rumble title bout for Rock to pin come hell or high water.
As it is, just means he has some time on the sidelines while they book around him. So, nice.

Should be a good match but I can't help feeling it would be better as an elimination table match like the one at RR2000.

Weird, I saw that image of Ryback powerbombing Punk on WWE.com and thought it was only a matter of time before he got injured. Sucks that happened, but I gotta say I'm looking more forward to this match now.

So no DQ option? That's kind of lame. Given that, it's pretty obvious that HellNoBack will be winning. I'd rather have a huge brawl, personally. Honestly, I can see DB taking the loss since WWE seems to see him as rather expendable when it comes to taking losses. Bryan is the best person to take the loss, he's the kind of talent that can lose constantly against anyone and still maintain (and even increase) his overness, a very rare quality.

So potentially there might not be a WWE title match on house shows until after Wrestlemania if Punk is being saved for the Rumble and then Rock wins the belt and only does TV/PPV?

But you know who's kind of the ultimate example of exactly that? Kane. Dude comes back from ANYTHING. It's just that the WWE bookers cannot get over their weird size thing. Me, I dunno why people are worried about Bryan. It's going to be worse watching all the Shield members looking like schmucks every time they're in there with Ryback.

I think that's a pretty bad excuse. Any superstar with enough talent, basically anyone good enough to main event, can stay over despite a many losses. The reason that it's always someone like Daniel Bryan is because the WWE is still has the notion that a superstar needs to be a certain size before he can be believable as dominant.
