Midcard

I keep seeing complaints that the midcard is ignored and midcarders never get TV time. I don't get it.
Isn't Damien Sandow a midcard guy?
Is Cesaro a main eventer?
I realize Team HellNo is in a PPV main event (packaged with uppercard guy Ryback) but I think it's pretty clear that Bryan and Kane are midcarders and they get a ton of time.
What about Barrett and Kofi and Miz? Are they really being neglected?
Even lowercard acts like 3MB and Funkasaurus and Khali/Hornswoggle have been given some quality time. Prime Time Players are also regularly featured in midcard tag matches (as well as recently on commentary).
Seems like R-Truth is not a guy who has been hidden behind a curtain, recently or months ago.
And before his recent angle with Cena, wasn't Dolph already getting as much attention on a weekly basis as any midcard guy in any era?
That's not to mention that the Main Event show is mostly a package of an upper-midcard match and a lowercard match. And the Saturday morning show has a lot of midcarders on it, doesn't it?
So what do people mean when they say the midcard is neglected? How can anyone watch the product and conclude that the midcarders don't get TV time, never get mic time, never have feuds?
Or is it one of those 'if it ain't Zach Ryder (or fill in your favorite here), it doesn't count' things?

The midcard feuds are usually heatless, formulaic and forgettable.

The only time a midcard feud seems to happen these days is when a random superstar ends up beating a midcard champion in a non-title match. Then they'll feud for a few months for the title before the cycle repeats itself. You rarely see actual storylines between them these days.

The midcard feuds are usually heatless, formulaic and forgettable. No doubt. Equally no doubt true for every era -- for every midcard feud you can remember from 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago and 20 years ago, there are many more that we have all forgotten about. It's the nature of midcard feuds. But I sure think Bryan and Kane are getting real pop. Cesaro's matches and many of Barrett's and many of the others get reactions, so I woudn't call them 'heatless.'

I don't really consider Team Hell No, Barrett, Dolph or Miz as "midcarders" in the true sense. To me they're just the extra main event talent who aren't currently in the World Title picture at the moment.

I'll argue at this point ziggler is basically a maine eventer since he is feuding with the WWE's golden boy in Cena and has a high profile match with him at TLC.

I disagree because he has feuds with Edge, Orton and a small feud with Cena a year ago and he's still stuck in midcard Hell. He's still in the midcard, but he's just an obstacle for Cena to get past until WM.

There use to be such a distinct difference in the mid-card and main events, not anymore though.
