So homophobic slurs are a-okay as long as you can do a mean armdrag? Cool. We've seen a lot worse smoothed over.

It doesn't really bother me to be honest, but its a silly thing to do in this day and age. My gay friends homophobically slur me all the time.
I am more irritated that someone contacted the WWE to complain about it

I don't know what a Clarky is. And I'm going to stop with this sentence: Free speech and personal views go both ways. People can think what they want. If he's being denied a job because he doesn't like the way a certain group of people act, that's somewhat discriminating too. People hate things. That's life. Let him have his opinion and let it go. I'm sure people hate him now and they won't lose work for it. With this post, I assume we've jumped into thread-locking territory, but just in case anyone reads this before the whole thing is gone: No, it does not count as discrimination if you say homophobic things on twitter and that ends up having a negative effect on your employment possibilities. It is ludicrous to imply otherwise, you goofball. Even leaving aside everything else: Homophobia is a social problem and homosexuality is not. And good lord, this is where we've gotten? "Let the man have his opinion and move on!" Some opinions are wrong. Some opinions imply poor judgment or stupidity or iffy ethics or insanity on the part of their holders. Why on earth are you apparently trying to argue that no one form judgments or draw conclusions about anyone based on the things they say?

How about Scorpio, and/or every/anyone who the word doesn't directly oppress, just stop saying "Faggot?" That seems like the simplest solution.

This topic is about a post and a half away from someone saying "check your privilege" unironically.

I'm just trying to point out that him using a word doesn't mean he should be cast out from employment. I've said the word faggott to someone that isn't gay. But then again I grew up with that and stopped saying it. I hate all the overreacting really. And one social view point being correct doesn't mean people can't have another. I agree disliking someone because they're gay or whatever else is wrong. Doesn't mean he can't do it......ya little goofball you.

There are all kinds of nasty messages that I could send Mr. Sky via Twitter, but that would be the wrong thing to do, and anyone who saw the messages would have the right to contact me and tell me that it wasn't something that should be said. My place of employment might decide that they don't want someone sending abusive messages representing their company, and fire me. It's still free speech, but ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. As the old example goes, free speech doesn't extend to shouting "Fire" in a crowded building. And the idea that he's being discriminated against is just so absurd I can't stop laughing at it.
Also, I think it's worth noting what happened with Punk. He called someone a "homo" in an insulting manner when an argument got heated, and what did he do? He went on Twitter, and he told everyone that he was wrong, and that he shouldn't have said those things, and that people were right to call him out on it. When people started whining about how he shouldn't bow down to the spectre of "political correctness", he told those people they were wrong. That's a mature reaction. Sky still thinks he should be allowed to use homophobic language with no consequences, and that's why I shall continue to be very happy that he doesn't have a job with WWE.

I couldn't agree more with these two. I don't care what his personal outlook is. Let him be the biggest nazi-muffin in the country, so long as he wrestles well and puts on a good show. That's all I ask from a wrestler. No. Being good at something doesn't excuse you from not being criticised when you act like a dick, be it on the net or to people's faces. How is it ok to excuse people just because, as another poster put it, they can 'do a good arm drag?' I simply can't understand that train of thought. For me, it comes down to the fact that I don't care. I don't care what his personal views are, because that wasn't what I tuned in for. I tuned in to see wrestling, that's it. My interest stops the moment the show does. So if he wants to go on a tirade and offend every single person he possibly can, that's fine by me because it isn't my business. That's all I'm saying.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. I never know why people forget this. People believe the phrase ignorance is bliss is a positive justification for doing nothing about their abhorrent and illogical hatred of those they don't dare put in the effort to understand/empathise with. You're Welcome! Oh wait, you're making a point, not doing a Sandow promo. I agree most heartilly.

There isn't a victim. There's someone who typed something online and someone who read it, then got offended.

There isn't a victim. There's someone who typed something online and someone who read it, then got offended. In 2012, EVERY situation must have a Victim and an Oppressor. Even if there isn't one.

reading Scorpio's tweet it was more stupid of him to say. Didn't say it in a homophobic way. Don't think that was a good word to use, but what was worse to me was some of the tweets he responded to.

People have gotten soft skin over the years . Every little comment offends someone in someway . Its hypocrisy really those same people call there friends gay or faget when they do something stupid. Or use the N word every other sentence because they think it's cool. They won't admit it though double. Standard bs. The only difference here is this guy is semi famous so we need to pick apart an anylise every comment, of every famous person ever. This thread should be lock an he should be left alone.

I think you'll find that some of us have no trouble not being homophobic or racist. It's really quite easy.

It really is.
Also. Some people don't use those terms and don't like them. That doesn't make them wrong for being offended or soft skinned.
Scorpio Sky: Famous. Haaaaaa ok.
