So I was googling "Greatest PPV of all time" and all the sites and forums I went to mentioned nothing but WWF/E PPVs and a couple ECW ones. No love for any of WCW's big shows. You guys and gals got any recommendations for something that might hold up well for a lazy Saturday?

Great American Bash '96 was really good. Souled Out '99 was pretty good too.

Any SuperBrawl, but specifically the early ones.
Great American Bash 89/90
Spring Stampede 94
Pretty much any Halloween Havoc. 96-98 are recommended.
Bash at the Beach 96/97/98
Uncensored 98

WCW during its hottest period didn't really do that many great 'shows.' You really didn't know what you were getting match-to-match in WCW, even at its best.

Don't listen to these people saying Halloween Havoc. 2000 had one of the worst PPVs ever also Chamber of Horrors is a Halloween Havoc thing.

The thing with the WCW ppv's is the build to them is what made them so good. Just rewatching the shows it feels like a lot is lacking. I mean you will always have the great midcard matches WCW was known for, but the main events, especially the more gimmicky ones just feel awkward out of context.

Great American Bash '96 was really good. Agreed. Spring Stampede 2000 was pretty solid, IIRC

In general, the two most celebrated are Spring Stampede '94 and Great American Bash '96. Top-to-bottom great shows.
Halloween Havoc '96 is probably the best of the Halloween Havocs as you get some excellent action without anything as outright embarrassing as the Hogan matches on the following two years' shows. I'm not even a Hogan hater, but in their entirety and especially in the context of the show those matches aren't even funny bad. They're just depressing.
Slamboree '94 is a great show too, the last glimpse of WCW at its peak before the Hogan era. The best Starrcade might be '96, just a loaded card with a feel good ending.

Bash at the Beach '98 was the best of the few WCW PPV's I watched. That show had Raven vs Saturn, Mysterio vs Jericho, Bret Hart vs Booker T, and Goldberg vs Curt Hennig. The latter weren't that great (Goldberg vs Hennig was less than 5 mins I think) but interesting at least. The main event was laughably bad, but overall it was a fun show.

Any PPV from Great American Bash '96 through Starrcade '96 pretty much guarantees you two excellent midcard matches and an entertaining, fresh main event.
Also, I'd say Spring Stampede 1994 and 1999.

I may get mocked for this, but Hog Wild 96 and Road Wild 97. Yes, Hog/Road Wild has a reputation for not making WCW any money and featuring a drunken and unruly crowd, but both shows stand out as favorites of mine from my early days as a wrestling fan. Hog Wild featured the first WCW match between Rey Mysterio Jr. and Ultimo Dragon and it was a great match. You also had Malenko vs. Benoit and a great Tag Team Championship match between Harlem Heat and The Steiners. Flair vs. Guerrero was a great match as well, and Sting/Luger vs. The Outsiders was passable. Hogan vs. Giant was short, which is for the best I suppose. And it ends with Brutus Beefcake getting beat up, so it can't possibly be that bad. Road Wild 97 had Jericho vs. Wright, which may not have been a GREAT match, but it was definitely decent. The Steiners and The Outsiders put on a pretty good match as well, as did Flair and X-Pac. Mongo/Benoit vs. Jarrett/Malenko wasn't awful by any means, and Harlem Heat even managed to get a good match out of Vicious and Delicious. DDP and Hennig put on a very good match as well. Giant/Savage was what you'd have expected at that point and Luger/Hogan... as a Luger fan at the time, the less said, the better. But neither show was horrible by any means.

SuperBrawl II. WCW was white hot. The crowd was insane. The matches were awesome and 4 and a half year old me saw it live on PPV and went crazy when Sting (tied with Hogan as my favorite wrestler, obviously) won the title over Luger. It was the best show from that late 1991-mid 1992 period where both companies where on fire and I have my earliest first hand memories of watching PPVs live.
