They don't need edgier. They need to give everyone something to do. They need to make titles matter again so we give two craps about the outcome. Hell, Crash Holly was even mega over back in the day. Stop getting midcarders over and then not putting them on TV for weeks at a time. It's not rocket science.

That sounds ruthlessly aggressive.

Both those things in the article are great. I can see that they do care about wrestling more, we get at least one great match each week and they are giving them time.

Now with the 3 hour Raws, just about everyone DOES have something to do, the titles HAVE mattered more, and most of the midcarders are usually on TV every week.

If this means less formulaic shows and less scripted promos, fantastic. But if "the pink and the stink" is what we're getting out of this, no thanks.

Perhaps Paul Heyman is apart of this too, in terms of writing? It seems like they've been making subtle changes every week but its still missing something. And no, its not Triple H but I feel like its time for Vince to heel it up again.

I'm fairly certain we heard pretty much this same thing right after the Pipebomb promo. I'll believe it when I see it or when it starts showing in the numbers.

NWA 1980s was edgier. HHH is a big fan of 1980s NWA. So do not automatically asume Edgier means Attitude era trash. It could just mean 1980s NWA/Pre Hogan WWF

It's been more wrestling heavy since 3 hour Raws came about so that's not really reporting anything.
And considering some of the material lately and the tone of the last year and a half it's not exactly breaking news to say "edgier product!"
Nothing stories ahoy.

Honestly, I don't want things "edgier".
I just want good writing, wrestlers with actual personalities, wrestlers not getting toned down (Swagger losing everything that made him interesting, Brodus not speaking any more in matches etc) and creative not dropping the ball with 90% of angles.

I don't believe it. I'd be fine with seeing it, but going edgier (assuming that "edgier" means "we're going for an older audience again") wouldn't really accomplish much for the long term.
What I'd like to see, to be completely honest, is for WWE to go in a direction that's not edgier but treated more realistically. I get that professional wrestling isn't a sport, but if it's presented in kayfabe like one, then they should try to present it as such. Weird, soap opera angles should be the exception, not the norm.

As long as they can stop being so scripted and constantly going "Twitter! Tout! WWE Universe! Most interactive show on cable!" I might start watching regularly again.

All I wanna see is feuds that have actual passion or whatever in them. Not to bash Sheamus specifically but, I'll use his feud with Big Show as an example. It seems like it's just "BLARGH I'M BIG SHOW AND NOW I'M CHAMP" and Sheamus is just "lol fella." It's been like that with all his feuds this year. Del Rio bashed his head with a car door and the next week it was just "lol fella" *brogue kick to Ricardo*. It's not just Sheamus though, every feud is just "heel/face interferes in face/heel's match-one of them does a weak ass ambush-ppv match." there's nothing creative or exciting because everything seems so watered down. So yeah, if things being edgier means feuds being more "intense" (not like how intense del Rio and Kofi have been lately) then I'm all for it. sorry for the rant.

Champions lose all the time in non-title matches just to set up a PPV match. Does it honestly matter who is IC or US champion right now?

Yeah, but needing an extra hour to get more midcarders on TV is ridiculous. They did it in two hours before and managed to let them get over better and the majority of the time the super over guys were on TV every week. (The Godfathers, Val Venis', NOA, Crash Holly's and Hurricane's of the world.) These days, it feels like a week or two can go by and we won't see Zack Ryder, Brodus Clay or Santino. Also, you're right about the Tag Titles slowly regaining prominence at least. I still don't feel like the US and IC titles matter though.
