But in any case, he's losing pops, or rather, Kurt Angle is gaining pops. It's weird, because Angle Vs Benjamin, Benjamin gets pops, but Angle Vs. Cena, Angle and Cena are 50/50. Go figure. I gotta have my pops! Sorry, I couldn't help it. He'll probably get a crazy big reaction from his hometown crowd but I think the longer he gets the Rocky Maivia treatment the fans will turn on him like Cujo, even the Boston ones. I think HAS TO get a crazy pop. Otherwise, he's in trouble for sure.

If Boston's fans have a memory span that lasts longer than two years, then perhaps they'll remember the time Cena wore a Yankees guernsey there.

Honestly, I'd have Cena chasing the title, and have a match where Angle beats him cleanly. It reverses the roles. It's Cena, the "street thug", that has to beat the now unbeatable former Olympic Champion. Makes more sense, and at least, it would make for good TV.

Of course Cena is the hometown hero so like any hometown boy, he'll lose and then take a further pasting.

Definitely. It would make so much more sense if Cena was chasing Kurt for the belt instead of going against the grain. As for the style of booking, you can't play it too aggressively with Cena. Every time he's supposed to look angry or intense, he just ends up looking like an idiot. His facial expressions, I mean. For instance, when he had Masters locked in the STF. That's because he's portrayed as a goofball in backstage segments and the like, but then when it comes time to get intense he tries to tap into his heel badass persona, and the two just don't reconcile well at all.

I don't understand how it would affect his facial expressions. Cena always made goofy expressions, and I really hated the one where he'd tuck his bottom lip behind his teeth... God, that looked dumb.

Last week the crowd was pro cena.
so was this week.
it'll be nuclear in Boston, where he'll wear the requisite Celtics/Redsocks jersey and well yeah.
I also gotta say
John Cena better wear wrestling gear in the EC, don't want to mess up those reebok pumps

ill just say the following so i dont get labeled as a "Cena-basher" Cena's promos do nothing to excite me or bore me... his promos to me are just your average "im angry and intense and i will whoop your ass" promos i think Cena has decent in ring abilities, even if he does the same 5 moves to end a match... some people on the roster only hope to have half the technical ability (even if its not that much) he does *cough* im referring to Chris Masters *cough* dont you just love my subtleness?

The test for Cena in Boston won't have a damn thing to do with the crowd. As long as merchendise is sold, which it will be, that's justification enough.

But to fair, how long would that last if he keeps getting booed? I mean, if the guys getting booed out the builiding, chances out his merchandising might drop...

And thee were, you guessed it, against Kurt Angle. yeah, i admit, when he was a heel, his promos, were much better, and i was begging for a face turn... then when we got it, he started making gay jokes towards Michael Cole... then once he actually got pushed towards the WWE Championship now, like i said, he says nothing to bore me or excite me... if i see Cena, i may turn away from the TV and talk to my friends on AIM, or i might pay attention... its more of a hit or miss thing... i guess it comes down to this... as long as he doesn't say "The Champ Is Here!" 5 times during his promos and say the same things he usually does in every promo (seriously, everyone of his sound the same)... i guess it comes off as decent in my book... im just indifferent towards Cena... kinda like im indifferent towards, oh lets say... Orlando Jordan, both give me no reason to like them, nor hate them...

But in any case, he's losing pops, or rather, Kurt Angle is gaining pops. It's weird, because Angle Vs Benjamin, Benjamin gets pops, but Angle Vs. Cena, Angle and Cena are 50/50. Go figure. It's kind of simple in this regard. Shelton and Angle have had 3 matches now and during those matches, even though you can hear audiable "Let's go Angle" chants, there is some small "Let's Go Shelton" chants too. Wanna know why they support Shelton against Angle while they boo Cena? Because, despite not being pushed as hard, everyone knows that Shelton is one of the best and underrated wrestling talents int he world. If he had the proper gimmick, Angle/Benjamin would be the ideal main event for WM, bar none. Cena vs Angle? The fans had just come off of booing Cean for Jericho at Summerslam and it continued with Angle at Taboo Tuesday/Survivor Series because it's not believable that Cena can beat Angle in a one on one match. No one buys it. That's why Shelton gets good face heat against his mentor and Cena doesn't.

Well I guess that means I need to change my name, because I buy it far more than I buy these absurd heel runs that looked like they were never going to F'ing END. Do you know how damned sick I was of seeing JBL and Triple H with those friggin belts? Honestly, I tuned out half the shows when they had the belts. I barely paid attention to ANGLE when he was champion, whether it was a a face or heel, in the past six years. And...seriously, did I hear somebody say John Cena was getting the ROCKY MIAVIA treatment? What are youi people, on crack?! Rocky was given the IC belt within a month of debuting at the Survivor Series. It took Cena...what? Almost a half a year or so when he first debuted, maybe longer. I mean he debuted around 2002, right? It took him quite a while, even if he did get the US belt eventually. The fact is, Cena is hardly getting the Rock treatment. Is he being pushed right now? F'ing HELL yeah he is. But when you look at it, who else on Raw IS there to push? Kane? Granted I am a huge fan of Kane, I must take a moment to do this, much as I hate to. AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! Sorry, I just had to laugh. Come ON! This was the guy Trips BURIED for almost a frigging year STRAIGHT! The guy they had get on-screen married to LITA for God's sake! They've RUINED Kane! After Kane...honestly, who the hell is LEFT to push but Cena on Raw? Pretty much nobody but Ric and Shawn! Well, and Hogan every few months, but he's never around long enough to be someone they'd put the belt on again. Face the facts. Everyone says that the WWE needs to push new stars. Then when they DO, people jump on the guy. Face facts, when you've only got three faces on the f'in program aside from Shawn and Ric, and two of the three are the tag team champs you need them to be visible, so they gave Cena the belt and told him to RUN with it, and he has. And you people say he's getting the Miavia treatement? It took him almost four years to get where he is now. It took Rock what? Less than a third of that? God you people are demented.
