Once again, it's that time of the year where the college football world goes bowling. And for a month, we see some of the greatest bowl games of the season, some of the worst, and some of the "Oh my god, why the f*** is this a bowl game?" games.
But, like last year, I have decided to determine the Division 1-A (or FBS, whatever floats your boat) by having another 16-team bracket tournament. 11 Conference Champions. 5 At-large bids. One goal. The BCS National Championship.
And you, the FAN, get to decide who you'd think would win the National Championship. Here is the bracket that I have come up with.
No. 1 Notre Dame vs. No. 16 LSU
No. 8 Louisville vs. No. 9 Utah State
No. 4 Stanford vs. No. 13 Florida
No. 5 Florida State vs. No. 12 Wisconsin
No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 15 Georgia
No. 7 Boise State vs. No. 10 Tulsa
No. 3 Kansas State vs. No. 14 Oregon
No. 6 Northern Illinois vs. No. 11 Arkansas State
How did I choose them? Well, the 11 Conference Champions were seeded first by how they were ranked in the BCS Final Standings, and then the Conference Champions that weren't ranked were seeded by their W-L record. Then, the 5 At-Large bids were seeded by how they ended up in the BCS Final Standings, with the exception of Notre Dame, since they ended No. 1.
So, PM me you're filled out bracket, choosing the winners all the way to the 2012 National Champions, including the final score of the title game, by next Wednesday. Then, Wednesday night, I will start the tournament, simulating it with NCAA Football 12 (I didn't buy NCAA 13). 5 points will be awarded for each correct pick, and if there's a tie-breaker needed, I'll use the scores to see who was the closest. And the winner shall be declared the 2012 FAN NCAA Bracket Challenge Champion!
