My thoughts, prayers and condolences to those affected by this. Now I kinda wish the Mayans are right. Perhaps that is the most merciful thing right now. Dont think like that , you must stand when you fall an move forward.

I don't want to discuss the politics of his stance, just the logic. He thinks more guns would have solved the issue. How is that possible? There literally are more guns in the country than there are people.

That's not really what he's getting at.

That's not really what he's getting at. I know, but to actually address the true meaning of what he said violates the rules, so I decided to mock him instead.

So...uh... Why did a kindergarten teacher own an AR15? Like, that's not even a gun that should feasibly be used for hunting.

She actually wasn't a kindergarten teacher she worked in finance before she took time off to care for her son. She apparently was an avid gun collector as well. What I don't get if you have a son who is mentally disturbed, why don't you put the guns in a safe? And what's with the military grade bullet proof vest? Alot of this stuff in this story just seems off.

There's got to be more to this than what we know right now.

The report of that young teacher who put her kids in a closet and got in front of the door as the shooter entered her classroom and took the bullets so her kids could escape... there are no words. There are no words.

Herostratus is an example showing this has happened for more than 2300 years. Infamy is tempting for people who want to be remembered at all costs. The problem is the level that it has gotten to, while massacres have been happening for thousands of years, with the type of coverage these stories get nowadays, the types of crimes like this have escalated, especially with copycats. After Jonesboro, shootings were getting some major coverage...and as a result, shootings began to happen more often. So something is definitely going on. Actually, as far as numbers go, they've actually been going down since the 2000's, according to the people that study them. There's a big difference between them getting more common and us just hearing about them more. I think it just seems like it's gone up because we have so much more coverage of everything now that you can't escape. A situation like the mall shooting probably wouldn't be national news in the 80's and even the 90's. But nowadays it definitely is. news.yahoo.com/no-rise-mass-killings-impact-huge-185700637.html

There intended for protection she was gun enthusiast nothing wrong whit that. From whats is being said of her she was loved woman of the community . This man was said to have a personality disorder he killed his mother took her vehicle an guns an forced himself into the school. This is an issue of how we deal whit the mental aspect of the individual when red flags are seen rather then a guns issue. If people still believe its a gun issue he tried purchasing firearms on 2 occasions both times denied . The laws in place were already working what wasnt working the mind set of this man.

There are no words. Finally seeing the victims faces and hearing the stories like this just absolutely broke my heart(again). Such a waste, and for what?

Or the issue could not be brought up at all because a s*** ton of people got a warning for it. Honestly, I think the thread should be locked as the issue won't stop coming up and people are going to respond to stuff like this. Also, the post below this one was done on the phone and I can't delete it from here. Could the mods do it?
