...to someone who has never really watched wrestling? Let's say you have a friend, they don't like wrestling and think it's kinda stupid, but then again, they have never really watched any wrestling either. They know you love wrestling and they say they will watch one match with you in hopes that they will understand it better. What match would you show them that demonstrates best why you love wrestling? Would you show them something with great storytelling? A technical masterpiece? Or a match that is complete spectacle?

Anyone who is not a fan of wrestling won't care about the storytelling, so I would go something that is full of major high-spots - cruiserweights, or something hardcore if they're also one of the 'wrestling's gay/it's all fake' crowd.

A technical spectacle, Rock vs Austin at Wrestlemania 17.

Have them watch a live show with you. Preferably one with a good card. In my experience, old matches never make fans but even mediocre RAW episodes have made fans in front of my eyes. It's even easier if you take them to a show.

If a friend of yours dislikes pro wrestling, then don't shove it down their throat. Go with your common interests, rather than force pro wrestling on someone who isn't interested.

Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Daniels 2005 Absolutely not. That kind of match is a wrestling fan's match. It works on many levels because you've already seen all the classics. My pick: Money in the Bank 2011 (the whole ppv)

I'd try to pick something that involves people currently on TV and doesn't require a ton of context.
For a while, Evan Bourne vs John Morrison was my pick, but the last year screwed that up.

My go-to match for this is Styles/Daniels/Joe @ Unbreakable. I've turned a handful of friends into wrestling fans because of that match.

The two main events of SummerSlam 1992 are perfect for this.

I'd say any Money in the Bank match, maybe even the first one. There's always something going on, there's almost no slow points, there's a very specific and simple goal to get the briefcase, and there's a bunch of different guys so you can get a quick idea of how everybody has different mannerisms, etc.

Why not Ryback and Team Hell No vs. The Shield from last night? Lots of storytelling that made sense, and some fantastic spots to boot.

Why not Ryback and Team Hell No vs. The Shield from last night? Lots of storytelling that made sense, and some fantastic spots to boot. Way too long for a non fan. Show them Generico vs Ibushi vs Nick Jackson vs Jigsaw in Chikara It's free on YouTube, short match with nonstop action. No rest holds etc.

Storytelling won't matter to a non-fan. Just show them something really stiff or spotty. That CHIKARA four-way is a good one to show.

Foley vs Taker Hell in a Cell KOR 1998 is usually a good one, most people who dont care at all for wrestling get sucked in after he gets up from the first bump

Almost any Dragon Gate 6 man tag match.
Basically you want something fast paced, not too long, and visually impressive.

How about WM 17? I always thought there is at least one match on that show for everyone.

This might seem like a weird choice, but Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair from Wrestlemania VIII. It's got an entertaining story that involved a handful of people with a lot of charisma who are the types that can make new fans. In addition to Savage and Flair you've got Mr. Perfect, Bobby Heenan, and Ms. Elizabeth. I'd show them the promos before and after the match as well.
