Wow, that's an obscure reference even for THIS board.
Anyways, it's Monday night and that means it's RAW night. Tonight's episode comes to you live from Philadelphia, and it's a special one as it is the annual Slammy Awards edition! Awards show shenanigans combine with PPV fallout for a lethal combination that should (hopefully) entertain. And remember, if you have WWE's official iOS/Android app, you can still vote for you think should win the coveted statuettes.
It was a breakout night for The Shield at TLC, as they defeated Ryback, Tag Team Champions Kane and Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match many are calling one of the highlights of the entire year. And in their debut match on the main WWE roster, no less. With justice seemingly handed down for now, how will Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns go about continuing their mission? And how will their fallen opponents recover, knowing that they all have championship bouts (Ryback still has a match against WWE Champion CM Punk in his pocket once he's cleared to return, while Kane and Bryan have new No. 1 Contenders in Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and their glorious facial hair) in the not-too-distant future?
Speaking of championship bouts, John Cena failed in his quest to gain the right to claim one via the Money In The Bank contract, losing a ladder match to Dolph Ziggler last night, due to an assist from the increasingly unstable AJ Lee. The diminutive disturbed Diva toppled over the ladder just as Cena was about to win the match, allowing Ziggler to put away the Cenation Commander-in-Chief once and for all before ascending to victory. While Cena put on a brave face afterwards, you have to wonder how much more he can take in his quest to be champion again. What will he have to say to AJ regarding her costing him the match? What will Ziggler do now that he has a win over the face of WWE under his belt and the MITB too? Will AJ explain herself? Lots going down here tonight.
World Heavyweight Champion Big Show pulled out one of the more comical moments of the night to retain his gold over Sheamus, knocking him out with the biggest damned steel chair you ever did see. Big Show claims he is now done with The Great White and will probably seek new challengers, but one would feel that Sheamus does not share that sentiment. Will this rivalry continue, or will someone new step up to The World's Largest Athlete?
Midcard belts... Both IC Champ Kofi Kingston and US Champ Antonio Cesaro retained over Wade Barrett and R-Truth respectively. With the Royal Rumble coming soon, will they now bide their time until then before finding new opponents? Find out tonight.
Divas... We got a fresh face in the title hunt last night with Naomi of The Funkadactyls winning the YouTube battle royal and making an old college try at Divas Champ Eve Torres. Unfortunately, she fell short, but now Eve could realise that her next title challenger could come from anywhere now. Who could it be?
All that, and Alberto Del Rio reveals his new and improved face-friendly Wheel of Aggression, TONIGHT on RAW!
