I know we were all making fun of the vagueness that was the "WWE is planning on bringing back midcarders to work with the new stars" rumor that came out last week...but here we are and Boogeyman and Tommy Dreamer have both made Raw appearances. (Or in Dreamer's case, had a match.)
So is this just going to be a one off thing where we all imagined seeing ol' Boogey and Dreamer was just there because of the location...or will we see them back for midcard runs?

Well, I think the Shield have ensured that Dreamer won't be back.

We don't need people like Dreamer or Boogeyman back. Their roster is STACKED the way it is. Even debuting a new heel right now seems like a bad idea.

It would be one thing if the did it like tonight and bring a guy back for a one off. WWE keeps debuting guys left and right and not giving them time to get over first before the next guy arrives. The midcard can't even get thrown a bone like it is half the time. At least Nexus had the benefit of NXT being on television before they jumped Cena. We knew what they were about.

I wouldn't mind Boogeyman as part of the comedy cadre of the trans-mundane with Khali and Hornswoggle.
But nothing more, really.

If their roster is so stacked, then why do we see the same matches every week? You have a good dozen or so break out stars that aren't used efficiently. Blame the lack of creativity. Do we really need a new heel to feud with Cena right now? The problem is so many guys are going WITHOUT any storylines, so the only exposure we see of them is just the same damn matches. How many PPVs over the last year have been built around maybe 3 or 4 matches, and everything else is added at the last second? It's pathetic. You can keep bringing people in and it won't make a damn difference because it'll be the same people getting the exposure and everyone else will be doing what is being done right now.

Lest we forger Ric Flair was last used as a midcarder in the WWE, when the IC title was number two on Raw

Once the new guy is done with Cena, he's gonna be in that weird spot that guys like Miz, Del Rio, Barrett, etc. are in where he's "too good for midcard" but "there's no room in the World Title picture" and just floats around in meaningless matches to stay semi-relevant.

Where do you get the notion that Miz, Del Rio, and Barrett are too good for the midcards? Those particular guys are booked more credibly and much more effort goes into showcasing them and making sure they have something to do than it does for the real midcarders.

Where do you get the notion that Miz, Del Rio, and Barrett are too good for the midcards? Those particular guys are booked more credibly and are more likely to get TV time than the real midcarders. But they are not in the title scene and are wrestling in the mid card so wouldn't they be the mid card? At least upper midcard like Jericho, Benoit and Eddy were for the most part.

I don't think anyone thought of Austin/HHH or Angle/HBK as midcarders when they were feuding out of the title picture. I feel the same way about most of the upper tier guys on the current roster
