Why not just do Shocker instead? Hell, add the Rock in there as Rhino.

Honestly I'm still scratching my head as to why they are going with Electro to begin with. It isn't often that a B lister foe stars in the second film of a super hero film series. They usually tend to save one of the A listers for the second film. Then again Iron Man 2 went with.....well technically they combined two lower level foes into a new foe for that film...... Makes me wonder who the third film's villain will be? Will it be an A lister or another second tier foe? What, and Lizard is an A-Lister? If anything, Electro is higher profile than Lizard. Scorpion would be good.

I suspect there will be something with Oscorp playing a role in the second film leading to a showdown with Norman in the third.

Really? I would always contend that Lizard is far more known than Electro. Then again, I'm not a major comic book guy...but he's usually in the top 5 or 6 guys who I would list as a Spiderman foe.
But I agree with Scorpion. He always kicked ass. Also Hobgoblin was pretty badass as well, especially in the animated series.

I would say Lizard ranks higher on Spider-Man's rogues gallery than Electro. Electro is just a generic obstacle for the hero to overcome. With the Lizard, there is more of a personal stake in the confrontation because of the friendship between Peter and Dr. Connors. The Lizard is Spidey's Two-Face.

Norman's coming. He'll be in this one; I bet Goblin is in 3 I hope not. That would be the 4th time we see the "scientist go mad" routine in the Spidey series. I'd prefer Kingpin or someone who isn't so direct as someone like Green Goblin is. I'd rather they not even bother doing the Goblin story over.

I think it could work if the did it more Spectacular Spider-Man style with Osborn being a complete bastard who's smart enough to utilize the Goblin formula without going crazy.

I'm just tired of the scientist or CEO being a villain. I think that's why I wouldn't mind Scorpion...he was essentially conned into being a guinea pig. I don't need Spiderman to have a "close relationship" with the villain. That's been EVERY villain we've had so far...come on!!!

Furthermore, I don't even want them to introduce Mary Jane.

I get the backlash against Norman and such, but too, he us the archnemesis, it's like a Batman series, eventually.you're getting Joker.

Marvel has Kingpin as it was part of the Daredevil film rights that has (or will) default back to Marvel. and as stated they kinda have to do Norman eventually, since he is Spidey's arch-nemesis. On the interview about the Electro origin, it's been a while since I read a spider man comic but wasn't one of his flaws that people didn't take him serious or he thought that they didn't or something? If so it sounds kinda like an extension of that.

It could be worse it could be the shocker instead of electro OI! Everyone loves the amazing pillow man. On the subject of the Shocker, just go his Ultimate Alliance look. ![](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_med10z80W51ry679lo1_1280.png) Not as generic as the Ultimate Electro look but not as goofy as the original ELectro costume.

They haven't used an A list Spidey villain yet with this new series. I misunderstood your point, sorry. That said, how many options do they have without covering Raimi territory that aren't perhaps second string guys? Scorpion or maybe Kraven the Hunter are probably the only bigger villains than Electro I can think they would be able to use.

Kingpin is in a gray area because he debuted in Spider-Man, not Daredevil, so Sony could try to stake claim to him if they wanted, but it seems that they have a good working relationship with Marvel Studios so they probably wouldn't.

I didn't know about the Kingpin thing. Even so, there's a large quantity of Spiderman villians they could work with, if they're going to do at least 5 movies. Scorpion, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, hell even Beetle or Rhino being the muscle of some evil businessman would be a nice change from friends turned enemies concept. I like the Green Goblin and Obsorne, but unless they're going to drastically approach it in a different way, I'll probably pass. That's probably what they're going to do in the next one though, they've dropped enough hints that Peter is destined to be a hero because of his parents or something. I don't think he needs to be a happy go lucky guy, but having him go after villains who he doesn't have a history with would be a refreshing change, but I guess they'd rather do the EXACT same crap we got in the other 4 movies. If Peter Parker was a more prominent citizen, it might make sense. But he's just some high school kid. I guess since it's so prominent in the comics, they should kidnap Aunt May too, huh? I mean that seemed to be the central focus of a lot of comics back in the day. I guess that's what I was disappointed with in the last movie. It made strides to separate itself from the Raimi movies, but it still plays to the same tired cliches, only without the theatrics. If they're going to use that formula again...then you might as well quit now. This is nostalgia talking but; Kingpin, Smythe and the Sinister Six > Anything Osborne ever did
