For comparison, last year's Survivor Series did 281,000 buys whilst the 2010 event got 244,000. With a buyrate like that, there's no argument that Survivor Series is no longer a 'Big Four' PPV.
The PPV only had three weeks of build, the main event was changed less than two weeks before the event, and the rest of the card seemed to be thrown together at the last minute. No surprise.

Yeah, and that's the problem. I think SS could be one of the big players again, but 3 weeks of build is absolutely pathetic. You wouldn't give Wrestlemania 3 weeks of build, would you? All the more baffling considering that Hell in a Cell had almost 7 weeks of build, to what is generally considered to be a filler PPV.

I don't see SS ever being a big time PPV again. The gimmick of the traditional SS matches worked in the old days because you rarely saw these guys teaming up together. But these days with no jobber matches and so many hours of programming each week, everyone teams with almost everyone else at some point during the year. So take away that uniqueness and you are left with a typical B-level PPV.

I have no problem with Survivor Series not being a 'major' PPV anymore, but please keep the name.

Dear WWE: Please spread the PPV's out better so this original icon can get whatever dignity it has left. Sincerely, Bad Booking

Remember, last year's Survivor Series had The Rock in his first match in like, 8 years.

To tell you the truth, the buyrate isn't that bad when you think of the fact that last year's event has the return of Rock to the ring after 7 years.

If I'm correct, it's the first show since Elimination Chamber that's down on the previous year. Everything else (except the Royal Rumble, which had a small loss) has had higher total buyrates than in 2011.

Well in that case, this deserves to be quoted again.
