It was good, but New Vegas was better. My main problem with 3 is that you become an unstoppable death machine by the end game, which can be fun but makes it a bit boring.

The ending... the gigantic hole in the ending is ridiculous. {Spoiler}My giant super mutant friend that I saved from certain death... the guy that radiation has no effect on... the guy who said he'd be my loyal companion till death!... Can you please go into the death radiation chamber and save the world?! No? What do you mean "no"?! I WILL DIE in there! Oh... it's my "destiny"?... What the hell is that suppose to mean?!

I've got every achievement bar the one for hacking 50 terminals. Because seriously, f*** that achievement! There always seems to be one achievement I can't be arsed doing in Bethesda games. In New Vegas, it's the gambling ones, Skyrim the bounty ones & the aforementioned terminal one.
Oblivion was fairly straightforward though. Only game I've got every achievement for, including DLC! I'll get the rest some day...

I just started a new game last night. was attempting to do the whole game with just a baseball bat (after reading someone on here saying they did) that lasted about an hour when I was doing the bloodties quest and encountered a few mierelurks.
On this play through i'm being an absolute c*** instead of my last playthrough where I played it by being the voice of reason who ocasionally made a few morally questionable choices to benefit himself.
got the DLC of Broken Steel and point lookout on its way on a disc too, on my last game I played the Pitt and operation anchorage, but I hated operation anchorage (being stuck in that meant I never touched the game again)
Last time I played through one of the highlights was killing that guy on top of tenpenny tower and seeing his head falling all the way down the side of it.
I'm not sure how many achievements I had as my old game was on a retired xbox gamertag

I've gotten every achievement in Oblivion, Skyrim and Fallout 3.
I got all of them in New Vegas except 10,000 healing with food and the one for playing Caravan.

Loved it!! 100% achievements with DLC and multiple play throughs. New Vegas disappointed me so bad because of how buggy it was but I still enjoyed it. But Fallout 3 is in my all time top 5

I had far more buggyness with Fallout 3 once I added all the DLC than I did with New Vegas.

Fallout 3 is still one of my most favorite games of all time. I have Fallout New Vegas but for some reason can't get into it as much.

Fallout 3 is so much better with Broken Steel, especially since it fixed the originally really stupid, illogical ending.
New Vegas is way better though. Stronger setting. Much better writing. More ties to the original games. It feels more like a true Fallout 3 (considering they took some stuff straight from the old Van Buren doc, it makes sense) than FO3 did.

The ending sucked but up until that point the game was amazing. It was so much fun exploring the ruins and tunnels I loved New Vegas too for its story, characters and it had a more realistic feel about it with how every town/settlement had a farm to provide food and stuff whereas Fallout 3, I couldn't help but wonder how the towns survive New Vegas wasn't as fun to explore though for me. It felt emptier than Fallout 3 and when you got to New Vegas itself... what a disappointment. It was hyped up throughout the game and when you got there there was 3 casinos all with the exact same games.

Best game this generation, in my opinion.
I liked New Vegas, but I preferred 3's setting and story. Plus, it was really buggy, like others have said.

Pretty much progressed as Baseball Bat --> Baseball Bat with Nails & Cork Core --> Katana --> Fire Axe --> Knock Knock. Not much can stand up to Knock Knock! Killed Lanius by Knocking him down with a Spin Attack, then hacking him to bits in 3 hits!

Probably because you don't have the Broken Steel expansion. That was released later. Going by what they originally gave us, the ending has a huge flaw in it.

I've been playing through F3 again, lately. Going for the final few achievements that I didn't manage to get before. 3 to go, those being the Alien Archivist one in Mothership Zeta, and reaching Level 30 as a Neutral and Evil character. It seems easier to end up good, particularly in the main story missions. It still impresses me as a game, from the sheer variety of locations to the openness it brings. No huge areas filled with Deathclaws and Cazadors just to make sure you don't try anything outside of the prescribed story route here. While it could use New Vegas' morality/factions/alliances system, I think it does a better job of creating the atmosphere and setting than New Vegas does. Excellent musical choices, too. Decent variety from the 30s to early 60s, all reflecting the themes of the game. Oh, and nothing in Fallout 3 is as smegging irritating as the radio-explodes-your-collar stuff from near the end of Dead Money. Whoever designed that section needs a lesson in game design. People don't pay extra on top of the base game for that kind of irritating treatment.

I mean, you don't get that much decent loot, it's awkward due to the collars, the enemies are crap and yeah, you get the gold bars, but it's difficult to get the full value of them, even with 100 barter. Amount of shit I didn't particularly want I had to buy to get the Gun Runners robot to take one was ridiculous!
