On the 2004 Rumble DVD, I think he talks about how he and Vince thought up the idea of the Rumble match itself.

Here are some random Royal Rumble facts. The number 30 draw has never won the rumble. Razor Ramon never competed in the rumble match. The heavyweight title has only changed hands once at a Rumble event. (1997) The 2001 Rumble was the first and only PPV so far held in New Orleans. quote] Well actually the only WWF/WWE ppv in new orleans. WCW had Halloween Havock 1993 here. i was there. main event was cactus jack vs vader. it had that spin the wheel make the deal wrestle crapish gimmick CHeatum was involved in this gimmick, you should be proud!

Fact: All of the Royal Rumbles are in fact shoots. They have just been very lucky about the winner fitting into their Wrestlemania plans.

I enjoyed Mr. Perfect's entrance into the 1991 rumble ... by slowly walking to the ring ..
Monsoon: Its ... Mr. Perfect .. and is he taking his time or what?
Piper: Ahh' a smart move by Perfect what's the rush ... number 19 had 2 minutes to get there (no show for the Macho King, who Warrior chased out of the building earlier!) ... they'll all still be in there when he gets there ... may even be a few less! ...

it would be funny if one of the lower card wrestlers thought he was gonna be released or something so he threw the winner of the rumble out in a shoot move

Fact: El Dandy has never won a Royal Rumble, but who are you to doubt that he can!? It supposed be "can't". It's supposed to be "it's supposed to be". Anyway, no it isn't supposed to be "can't". "I doubt El Dandy can win a Royal Rumble" = El Dandy will not win a Royal Rumble, in my view. "I doubt El Dandy can't win a Royal Rumble"= There is nothing to stop El Dandy winning a Royal Rumble.

i m interested in alternate winners plans since every rumble supposedly has a back up plan if the would be winner gets eliminated. So any stories here?

I like the year Adam Bomb drew #30.
As he's walking to the ring, Vince plays up the fact that Adam Bomb drew #30.
"ADAM BOMB IS GOING TO WIN THE ROYAL RUMBLE!"

1997 was Shawn Michaels vs. Sid in San Antonio. The match where Shawn just so convieniently won the belt back in his hometown. Then he lost his smile...lol.
All Royal Rumbles are intricately designed as far as who's feuding with whom, and so-on.
Other RR Fact: "British Bulldog was gonna win the Rumble tonight, at the Royal Rumble, this night, because he's biza-a-a-a-a-arre!"
If there was ever a controversy, they'd just BS their way out of it, like when Steve Austin won in 1997.

Not a fact here, but am I the only one who feels the '97 Rumble match outcome was the lamest? The refs didn't see Austin get thrown out?!? It just totally lacked any sort of creativity.

I had no idea the Rumbles were all a shoot. Interesting.
You'd think a hell of a lot more people would get injured, though, if that's the case.
