So I just got a copy of the game since I love Arkam Asylum and I was wondering if it is really worth it is really worth it and does it compare to its predecessor.
Also, without giving to much away, any WTF moments like the third Scarecrow scene in the last game. TBF, I knew about it before playing the game so it did not affect me much. But O.want to be surprised.

Definitely worth it, it's a game with an absolute ton to do, and almost seamless gameplay. They've polished some stuff from Asylum, and it's got a much wider cast, so that's a plus. The main reason I prefer it to Asylum, though, is the setting. Having Batman fly around Gotham seems more interesting to me than the corridors of Arkham. As far as those kinds of surprises go, there are definitely some great twists and shock moments in there, but there's nothing quite so real-life-freakout-enducing as the Scarecrow moment, which is actually a relief.

I've still never run all the way through it.
I've been playing Asylum again for the first time in a few years before I finally give it a dedicated go.

Great game, but don't bother with the Harley add-on unless you find it as a Deal of the Week or something. The rest is worth checking out.
And yeah, there are a couple of sequences similar to Scarecrow's bits.

Now, this is coming from a guy who kinda gets irritated/hates Batman at times, Batman: Arkham City is probably the best super hero genre game made to date. It took the extremely good Arham Asylum and added a much huger environment, which makes you feel like you have far more freedom to move about and explore. If I have one complaint, it's this: {Spoiler}nearly all the side quests essentially end with "to be continued" endings. but even that is just a puny nitpick, IMO and not really a problem with the game itself. I highly recommend Batman Arkham City and give it 2 thumbs up.

Honestly, when I first picked up Arkham City, I just had it on my shelf after the first hour. Only reason why is it came out at a horrible time for me, Uncharted 3 was my most anticipated game that year and it was gonna be out in a week or two afterward... so my attention just wasn't on it. However, a few months later, I pulled it out, started over, and buzzed through everything but the Riddler stuff in about four or five days. When it grabs you, it REALLY grabs you. Only thing I'll say negative about it is, as coola s it was to play as Catwoman... I f***ing hated it too, you get so used to playing as Batman that I had a hard time switching to a completely different character. Sure, she was similar, but a lot of the leeway you get with Batman due to his armor, you don't have with Catwoman so I ended up dying a LOT with her and getting really frustrated. Fortunately, her missions are pretty short and only take up a small section of the game so it's really only a minor complait.

Speaking of Catwoman, I wish they'd have adjusted the challenges for the other characters instead of requiring the same scores. Being able to destroy weapons makes Batman so, so much better than everyone else; granted, if the others could do it then Nightwing would make him look like a complete joke. Granted, it'd compensate for Dick being complete and utter s*** in Predator maps.

And yeah, there are a couple of sequences similar to Scarecrow's bits. The game of the year edition comes with the Harley add-on, so he may have gotten it for free depending on what kind of copy he got. But yeah, it's definitely not worth buying as DLC. It's not bad it's just...not really worth the money. Kind of feels like a sidequest.

I wasn't expecting much since she was the last one left, but still. $9.99 for THAT was too much.

I'm playing the Wii U version right now. It has all the DLC included. The new armor really comes in handy when you're taking on a ton of guys at once.

It's good but I liked Asylum better. My main gripe with the game is the map system. I got the GOTY edition and I haven't really touched Harley's revenge. Anyways...it's a good game but I just enjoyed the first one a whole lot more.

I thought Asylum had a better atmosphere, in that you were pretty much trapped in there. In City, you could usually run away and take a breather if things started getting too hectic, then come back from a different angle. I also wasn't a fan of the constantly respawning gunmen when you were trying to clean up any sidequests after defeating the main game.
Didn't think there was anything close to the Scarecrow moments in terms of sheer mindblowing moments, but the battle with Mr Freeze was just an awesome boss battle.
And considering the next game is going to be a Silver Age prequel, HQR really left the story in a dark place at the end.

And the fact that the Harley story honestly doesn't really progress the story and in fact removes some potentially interesting things... {Spoiler}In particular, in revealing she's not pregnant. ... really has made me just plain bitter and disinterested over the Silver Age thing, since I hate that particular era of comics and all of the constant throwbacks to it. Yeah, much as I love the Arkham games, there is virtually no chance I'm getting that one. Spoilers ahead - {Spoiler}Especially if Joker's in it. He's had his big payoff and death, just let him go and give us someone new as the main threat already. Like Scarecrow, like the whole of Arkham City is beating you over the head with indicators he's planning something. Or whatever Azrael and Hush are up to. Yeah, sort of a weird thing I guess, but I like Arkham City so much and am interested enough in its plot that I just want something at least kind of like it and not some complete 180 garbage just going backward. Hell, even if it weren't Silver Age-ish, I really have no interest in a prequel. I want to see where the game's plot goes from here. Which, I guess I'd say is kind of an endorsement of the game if you're still playing through it.

This game left me wondering and anticipating "what's next?", more than any other video game I've played in the last few years. I need to have Arkham 3.

Yeah, Arkham 3 seemed to be what the developers wanted to do.
I wonder whose idea it was to get them to work on a Silver Age thing instead.
I shall blame Didio and Johns. Because I always blame Didio and Johns.

I just want more understated Batman villains. You've used Deadshot, so next time work in Tally Man as the Assassin side story.

I will say from a story stand point the Harley DLC is a let down, but from a gameplay stand point it is soooooo fun to play as Robin.

I'm in the minority but I prefered Arkham Asylum. It just seems like with city they shoehorned as many villans as they could in and it doesn't flow as well. but that's probably my preference in game mechanics more than anything, I prefer games with a tighter flow over open world stuff (rpgs are my exception to this though)
