100X better then 11,13,and 27. At least 13 had Austin/Bret. yeah, but one match isn't enough imo. this didn't even feel like wrestlemania, but more like a long in your house, much like 11. wrestlemania 12, also had that type of feeling, but the match quality was good.

It didn't feel like a Wrestlemania despite the unique location. Nothing that could really be done about it because the talent and storylines just weren't there. Yokozuna as the major heel didn't have much back story. He was just a character billed from a foreign country. His character didn't speak so he couldn't garnet heat like Iron Sheik and Mr. Fuji didn't say much to get him over like Freddie Blassie would have.
Even though past wrestlemania's may have had a lot of filler matches I think those extra matches made the show better and showcased all the talent the company had. Starting with WM VIII there would be no 12-15 match Wrestlemanias and the strange thing was those wrestlemanias had fewer matches and yet they had a match cut from the show (8, 9, 10).
I too missed seeing Kamala and Bam Bam and was pretty dissapointed the DVD released in 2005, I believe, didn't have Kamala with the elephant after the show. I guess that was just the Coliseum release as I don't remember it on the VHS release in 1998. There was no back story with those two though Slick could have played up a past feud with his men and Bam Bam and tried to get Bam Bam to return to the good side. I was always a Kamala fan and always was wanting to see more of him since he was never in a company very long. I was also dissapointed Slick wasn't with him his last few matches. Seeing Kamala versus Papa Shango was a huge deal for me when I saw it on TV.
I think El Matador and Shango should have been on the show. I always wished the dark matches would be on the show so all fans, home and in person, could see the wrestlers. I think most of these guys were still around so Wrestlemania IX could have had wrestlers Duggan, Bossman, Virgil, Bevery Brothers, Nasty Boys, High Energy, Repo Man, Skinner, Damien Demento, Terry Taylor and Typhoon. They would have been a throwaway match but at least it gives fans something extra like the previous few had.

Decent stuff in it. Plus, still my favorite looking Wrestlemania of all time.
