"The Anomaly" Brock Lesnar...though, I can't tell if it stuck or not, because that $5m has only managed to have him around 10-11 times...

I liked a lot of Striker's attempts at nicknames, including "Altered Beast" Batista.
I'd rather they try some nicknames than pick one and force it.

I personally liked all of Striker's ultra-nerdy nicknames and references. I may be in the extreme minority, but I thought he was a fun, different sort of announcer for the big, polished, seamless circus of WWE. He was very much a child of the "IWC Era" of fandom, and it was fun to hear a guy who was watching and thinking about the show with the sort of dorky, hyper-referential eye of a comic book/sci-fi fan furiously debating continuity and shipping into the wee hours on Reddit. I can see why that rubbed so many people the wrong way, who always see a maintenance of the "real sports" veneer as the highest attainment for a wrestling program, but I think that mentality doesn't really jibe with the way people actually consume/engage with entertainment in this day and age. "I'm markin' out, bro!!" may not have been the sort of thing a football announcer would scream, but pro wrestling in 2013 isn't the sort of thing a person thirsty for real combat sports would ever turn on. Why not foster talent who speak in the language of the target audience, of the modern fandom? But, this is company that doesn't promote CM Punk doing stuff like Talking Dead and The Nerdist (i.e. mainstream exposure that their audience would actually care about, as opposed to guest shots on Disney shows), so I can't be surprised. I agree with you 100%.

I'd rather they try some nicknames than pick one and force it. "Altered Beast" was an awesome nickname. Really, I think my enjoyment of Striker came largely from all of the game references. I loved that he called Christian's top-rope elbow smash a "Flying Shoryuken", though I guess calling a Shoryuken "flying" is a bit redundant.

I recall Tazz and Michael Cole referring to Brock Lesnar as a "manster" a few times back in his first run. I'm quite glad that didn't stick I think they realized it sounded like a gay porn file sharing website and called it a day.

I agree with you 100%. As do I. It was refreshing to hear someone who was legitimately enthusiastic and engrossed into the product and the background of every superstar that entered the ring. They're suppose to be these larger than life superstars, almost superheroes, and Striker's backstories for each of them made them seem different and really added to their character, or lack of, which in that case he was actually giving them some sort of on-air character that the superstar didn't even have coming out. He was giving us a reason to care for them. But screw that, I'd much rather hear Lawler phone it in 98% of the time.
